Should we hide/archive the pre-2007 threads?

Post by Squirminator2k » Thu Jun 13, 2013 9:41 am

The forum looks a little cluttered with all these old posts. Obviously we shouldn't delete them, but perhaps they could be archived. Thoughts?

Personally I just kept them around because an empty forum looks weird, and archiving always ruins all the organization and bumping possibilities.

Plus you can always just do this. ;)

I voted no as they seem harmless to me. Once there's enough new threads to fill pages, they'll be a lot less noticeable. If archiving means creating an Archive sub-forum, that might tickle your senses every time you look at the forum index.

Moving them away would make it harder for people visiting the site to find information.

Meh.
I voted yes before actually thinking about it.

Bloopy is right, new threads will eventually push the old ones out of sight.

Is there maybe also an option in phpBB to move threads with recent posts to the top?
Because it seems that many people are browsing the old ones and posting there.

No, we can't. Maybe you can because you're a leek hackspinn0r.

We've tastefully posted in a few of the 2007 threads and kinda made them feel welcome. I think it would be rude to kick them out now. :P

Actually, I can change my vote too. Maybe it's because we're admin? :P

(or GASP! maybe I'm a leek hakspinn0r too?!?! :o)
Worm Mad - is he a mad worm or a person mad about worms? I'll give you a clue - it's not the first one.
