Pooka's Picky Website Corrections

Post by Pooka » Tue May 24, 2005 7:50 pm

OK, here's an idea for a thread.

Post all the picky website corrections you can find (like small spelling/grammatical errors, menu fudge-ups and stuff) here, so the Admins can see (and hopefully correct). Makes for a tidier way of doing so, IMO, and... well... yeah.

So GET PEDANTIC, PEOPLE!!

I have to say, Ben really does need to proof-read his updates before posting them - there often a few careless typos in every one!

The Worms4: Mayhem section under Softography reads

Worms 4: Mayhem
2005
PC CD, PlayStation2, X-Box

The PC bit is correct, the CD is not, it's DVD

I'll amend that once Worms 4 is released and we have more information to go on the Softography+ entry.

I was skinning my phpbb forum today and I think you'd have a nicer style if you changed "Table Header Colour 3" from white to purple.

It seems to be the annoying inset broken border that gets in the way and looks ugly. If it does anything else I haven't noticed it.

I don't know. subSilver seems pretty messed up with its colour sets to me. Your best bet is to take a screenshot of the forum, find what hex-colour the inside (purple) borders are, and systematically change everything that's that colour until you find it. And here's betting a load of other stuff changes. I think it's Table Cell Colour 2, which means it would also change the text boxes and maybe the background (though the image would hide that anyway.

In the softography, under "Unannounced Alien Breed Game" it says "there was interest in the Alien Breed franchise and that a new game maybe in the works" it should be "may be", with a space:)

In Demos, it says

"Unless otherwise stated, this demos are PC only."

you're right, it does change all of that. and it ended up looking ugly too, so i just changed it the way you initially suggested.

Would there be a way to skin the PHPbb buttons? If there's a way, I'd be willing to create some nice purple ones.

I've nearly finished. All I need to do now really is to knock some new Smilies together, and to incorporate some Team17 characters in there, too.

Make them all Spud. He's small enough and brightly coloured, and has good, clear, expressive eyes.

About that editor news. I don't think my editor is qualified for WYSIWYG. Textures aren't working, I'm not properly tracking several lattice parameters, and there is at least one error in lattice positioning. So what you see, isn't quite what you get. In fact, what you get tends to look better.

Pooka did say, "get pedantic."

Main Softography+ page refers to the 'Offical' Team17 Softography.

Yeah, and it shouldn't be 'offical'. Just 'official'.

Also, on the Staff page, we have 'Specials Thanks'. I think that should just be 'special'.
