X-Box 360 Problems

Post by Jonah » Thu Dec 01, 2005 3:51 pm

Sorry but I can not help but laugh, it seems that Microsoft have failed in the next generation console war already. It seems obvious to me now that Sony will triumph again due to Microsofts hastiness and bad planning. It appears that there are problems with the new X-Box 360. A number of complaints have been added already to a number of 360 boards that report game crashes, mysterious console power shut, overheating and disc scratching. This is not a good way to win users to your console and I'm sure that Sony will learn from Microsoft's mistake. And by the way, Playstation 3 will be backwards compatible with games from earlier consoles without the need of patch downloads.

Sony will laugh it's way to the top of the console tree again.
Microsoft  will have to be content with either second or third position due to complaincy and stupidity.

Interesting links regarding X-Box 360 problems.

Nintendo

Pooka,

I'm a big Nintendo fan. I own a GBA SP, Gamecube, DS and I will be looking to purchase a Revolution next year. But sadly, most within the gaming world are deluded. The majority of gamers now are either Playstation or X-Box fanatics because, (mistakenly) they think that Nintendo is either a gimmick or a console for children. The big boy games they tell us are on either the Playstation or the X-Box.

The Revolution looks great, but at the moment it's Sony with the most pulling power I feel. Hopefully I'm wrong and Nintendo will once again regain it's position at the top of the Pile.

Well, at least they bothered to translate the error message into multiple languages

Microsoft is definitely out of the race. They just popped in and released something before all others just to try and get ahead in the console race. And now look at the result.
Sony has been planning and developing the PlayStation 3 for months (around the same time as the PSP, iirc), and Nintendo is... well, Nintendo :P

Then it will fail.

You need years to make one game. You can't make a console in a few months.

I've heard a lot of complaints about the noise the 360 fans make. Not really surprising when you consider that the chip being used is the same basic chip as the ones Apple use in the G5 towers, except it has a faster clock speed and another core.

Apple have to liquid cool anything over 2GHz in the towers - no wonder the XBox apparently has such noisy fans.

I'll probably be buying a 360 when the price has dropped to around £100 :D

And keep it in the next room where it can't annoy you?
