It is a vertical scroller. Does that help?

The game was certainly released for NES and some Arcades. The music is from the NES version, since I couldn't find a file from the Arcade version, which is a lot nicer. Whether it was released for any other systems, I do not know.

It has gone very, very quiet. Maybe someone else should post the next tune.

Should I post a tune from the first level? It might be more recognizable.

Here is the loop from the first level. I don't know, though, if there is still a point in everyone trying to guess. Should I just give the answer so that we can move along?

Edit: Bonus points to anyone who can figure out the morze code in the end.

My Glod, that's familiar. Originally I thought "that sounds somewhat like Megaman", but I really haven't a clue. Not at all.

I guess this has been going on long enough. The game was Twin Eagle.

Well I'm gonna go shoot myself now. I knew that tune sounded familiar but I didn't get it cos I haven't played the NES version. Used to play the arcade one and the music on that sounds more 'real'.
