I consider myself an optimist. Everything always seems to go great and I have little material for this thread. But maybe that's just an illusion perpetuated by rarely taking risks!

I know a German girl who is allergic to dust, but only in Germany. Maybe you just need to move?Bloopy wrote:I consider myself an optimist. Everything always seems to go great and I have little material for this thread. But maybe that's just an illusion perpetuated by rarely taking risks!

Going to bed late because something wrong on the internet needs ironing out. Goddammit!

Nothing motivates me more than the internet not working. I don't care what it is I'm doing - I HAVE to fix it and do it right away for the enjoyment of not forgetting about it later and end up freaking out that it still needs fixed.
In some sad news, my ol' faithful Wacom tablet broke today.
It makes me very sad.

I'm missing out on a lot of gaming time because I have a new computer case but the parts I ordered for it to be cooled properly are "on hold" because... well because... Pisses me off.

My home PC crapped itself, and I couldn't manage to even reinstall Windows on a formatted hard drive.
The one day I want to take it into the shop, they're closed for their yearly stocktake...

Fix it yourself? Just try to format using a linux distro on a usb stick, or nuke your drive with a Hiren's boot cd.Bloopy wrote:My home PC crapped itself, and I couldn't manage to even reinstall Windows on a formatted hard drive.

Once I got my PC back with a nice speedy SSD installed, I realised it may have been the hdd that caused the crap in the first place. It either takes forever to report failure via SMART, or forever to show up if I hotplug it, or Windows freezes on startup if I disable SMART. Anyway, I bought a new hdd today, which should really go in the Positive thread.

Re: Negative Events and Occurrences 3.0
Yeah, noticed that SSD and S.M.A.R.T. don't like each other very much, ran into some diagostic wierdness using S.M.A.R.T. on an Intel SSD...Bloopy wrote:Once I got my PC back with a nice speedy SSD installed, I realised it may have been the hdd that caused the crap in the first place. Soo not really negative news but a big dilemma here, got an offer from another firm to work in my hometown, some more benefits than I have now, only catch is that it's a "step back" of what I'm curently doing... Choises choises...

Wwwelp, having a girlfriend for a minute was pretty cool, but she dumped me.
How sitcommy.

Ya'know this reminds of something I once read on the internet.Zeor wrote:Wwwelp, having a girlfriend for a minute was pretty cool, but she dumped me.

Goes something a bit like this.
"You shouldn't be sad for yourself but for the one who leaves you. Because you lost someone who doesn't care about you - but they have lost someone who cared for them"
Good ol' internerts. Putting things and perspective and cat pictures.

Re: Negative Events and Occurrences 3.0
Well, at least it was a clean break for a change, instead of being jerked around and/or stabbed in the butthole like I've gotten so used to. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't whatsoever on the same page, if I'm being honest. But it still sucks.
Might need a little break before I get back on the horse. The thought of trying again just seems hopeless and exhausting right now.

Apparently my aunt in Vermont was just murdered by her as-far-as-I-know-not-really-husband.
I wasn't close with her at all, but still, friggin'... yikes. Sickening no matter how you look at it.

Worm Mad - is he a mad worm or a person mad about worms? I'll give you a clue - it's not the first one.

I was going to complain about my flu but, damn, WTH? Sorry for your not-so-loss but still...Zeor wrote:Apparently my aunt in Vermont was just murdered by her as-far-as-I-know-not-really-husband.

So those bastards of IS decided to attack Brussels.
I'm working 100m away from one of the metro station that was attacked.
Luckily I'm fine but this is gonna leave a mark...

Cripes. Glad you're alright.
Re: Negative Events and Occurrences 3.0
Damn, both of you have some difficult stuff to deal with there. This thread is becoming too dark for my liking..
I can only hope I manage to keep avoiding such traumatic experiences, I've got a good record so far.

You always think "Never in my country" until... well a week ago...
I'm glad no one I know got hurt.
I'm angry for the 31 people killed and 97 wounded.
