EAGER has returned
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 29/04/06 9:22am CEST

Amiga website EAGER - Every Amiga Game Ever Released - has returned after their host, BttR, went down a few months ago. Sadly, EAGER's author doesn't have any light to shine on the whereabouts of BttR, but it's good to see one of their hosted sites return. Welcome back!

Jamie Woodhouse seeking publisher for Qwak GBA
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 25/04/06 1:19pm CEST

Jamie Woodhouse has recently completed development of Qwak for the Game Boy Advance, and is seeking a publisher. Looking at the screenshots, it seems to be a pretty faithful port of the Amiga version, with some tweaks. Click here to see Jamie's promo splash page for the game.

Server downtime
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 23/04/06 1:25pm CEST

Our hosts have decided they don't want to be our hosts anymore, and so we'll be moving to yet another server with yet another webhost. So there will probably be some downtime later this evening.

Worms: Open Warfare music available for download
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 20/04/06 6:25pm CEST

(I seem to have far too much time on my hands today, I've made at least four news posts including this one...)

Bjorn Lynne has made some of the Worms: Open Warfare music available from his SoundLift account. As Bjorn is probably one of the best musicians I'm aware of, this is well worth checking out even if you're not a fan of the Worms games.

Worms CD32 ISO received!
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 20/04/06 6:07pm CEST

I'm pleased to announce that we have, courtesy of Dream17 visitor and Team17 Forum semi-regular Bonz, obtained an ISO of the original CD32 version of Worms, complete with a PDF of the Copy Protection Code sheet. Bonz actually provided the original ISO we used to host, so that means there's absolutely no difference between this version and the old one.

The ISO will be going online tonight, once I get home from work. Thanks again to Bonz for providing it to us.

Dream17 News Feed - Add it to your Google Homepage
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 20/04/06 4:23pm CEST

As you're aware, there is a Dream17 Newsfeed you can now subscribe to via any feed-reading site or software. The easiest way to do this, at least that I've found, is via Google's Custom Homepage service. In order to add the feed, follow these instructions:

1. Go to your Google homepage (sign in if necessary) and click the "Add content" button.
2. At the bottom of the new frame that has opened to the left is a field marked "Create a section". you can enter a URL into here. Enter, and click "Go".
3. That's it, you're done. You might need to click a "Save" button, but that's it. You can adjust the number of News posts you see on your frontpage by clicking the "Edit" button next to the Dream17 header.

[Edit by Sup] You can also add the newsfeed to Opera or Firefox by clicking the RSS icon on the right-side of the address bar while viewing Dream17.

THQ announce 'Destroy All Humans! 2'
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 20/04/06 3:42pm CEST

Not Team17-related, strictly speaking, but I think this is worth mention.

Apparently the title of THQ's 2005 hit "Destroy All Humans!" was a tad misleading, as there are apparently still humans left to kill in this year's planned sequel, the aptly named "Destroy All Humans! 2". Let's hope they do the job properly, this time 'round.

Where is BTTR?
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 19/04/06 2:03pm CEST

Pooka's SuperFrog website raises an interesting point, that being that Back To The Roots appears to have vanished off of the face of the internet. If anyone happens to know why... well, drop us an email.

Oh, and our Frontpage appears to have broken. This is likely because SupSuper is trying to make a few improvements to the site that we think you will like. Rest assured that once the issue has been sorted, the site will be running smoothly.

[Edit by Sup] Actually it's because you left an open " on one of your links. Watch your coding Razz

ISO appeal
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 18/04/06 3:50pm CEST

Dream17 is once again trying to obtain ISOs of Team17's CD32 titles, particularly Alien Breed: Tower Assault, Worms, and Ultimate Body Blows (yes, we did used to have the latter two, but when we removed them from the server we neglected to back them up... d'oh!). Any other CD32 versions would also be fantastic, particularly the compilations of earlier titles. I wouldn't mind finding out the origins behind the unofficial Team17 Anthology while we're at it.

The PHP conversion is finally completed! The website should now be overall faster and much easier to update. And more updates is always good!

In case any of your links are broken, you better update them. If any of OUR links are now broken, or if you run into any unexpected errors or problems when browsing the website, please let me or S2k know.

As for overall updates, we finally have info for Silverball and World Rally Fever, screenshots for Ultimate Body Blows and music for Arcade Pool CD32 and Worms 3D.

CD32 games removed
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 06/04/06 4:23pm CEST

Due to server space, we have unfortunately had to remove the ISOs of Worms and Ultimate Body Blows, and we're going to have to put a hold on getting ISOs of other CD32-exclusive Team 17 titles until we can sort out a bit more space.

In addition to which, the Demos section is temporarily down. The site that previuously hosted the demos for us, Wormiverse, has closed down after a long period of inactivity. Until we can sort out Hard Drive Space for the Demos and ISOs, we'll have to refrain from providing them to you. Remember, we still have a complete catalogue of Team17 ADFs and IPFs for you to check out.

In the meantime, if anyone is willing to host the CD32 ISOs or demos for us, please drop me an email.

The SuperFrog sequel news was, of course, an April Fools Day trick. All of Dream17's staff - yes, including Pooka! - were in on it. We'll be keeping the SuperFrog: Pond Spawn forum open for the rest of the day, then the Announcement thread will be archived in The Vault.

Well done Ash, who was the sharpest tool in the shed today in knowing what day of the year it was, and a hefty "Ahar!" at anyone who actually fell for it (we do, of course, hold out high hopes for a SuperFrog sequel at some point in the future...).

Posted in Archived by Worm Mad at 01/04/06 9:53am CEST

Ossett, West Yorkshire - March 31, 2006 - In a surprise announcement, Team17® Software Limited today announced plans to self-publish SuperFrog™: Pond Spawn, the official sequel to the 1993 platforming classic, SuperFrog™.

Building on the success of the critically acclaimed original, SuperFrog™: Pond Spawn provides even more fast-paced thrills in a new expansive, cel-shaded, 3D-enhanced environment which spreads over the course of twenty four unique levels within six stunningly rendered worlds. Further excitement is provided by competitive and co-operative play modes, a stylish and easy-to-use level editor, and unlockable trophy gallery. Players take full control of their amphibian heroes and villains in a range of exciting challenges, making use of special power abilities and utilities which are scattered across the map. SuperFrog II announced!
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 01/04/06 9:24am CEST

Late last night, Team 17's Press Office emailed us a Press Release confirming rumours and speculation that have gone on for well over ten years now - that a new SuperFrog game is in the works! The new game has been confirmed for the current crop of consoles (no official word on whether or not a PC version is being developed, but it doesn't seem likely considering there's little market for them on PCs - we'll check on that). Edit: Whoops, it's currently for PC only. My mistake - I didn't get a lot of sleep last night...!

I'm at work at the moment and, as such, I don't have access to the Press Release. However hopefully someone else will be able to stick some or all of it up later.

In the meantime, feel free to discuss the newly announced title here in a specially created forum just for the occasion.
