Patches removed for 3D Worms games
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 30/01/07 8:59pm CET

The Worms 3D and Worms 4: Mayhem patches have proven to be quite popular, as has the newly available ISO of Super Stardust CD32. We've used over 25% of our bandwidth allocation since the patches were reinstated and the ISO made available, so to help curb things slightly I've taken the patches down. The ISO remains for the time being, however the high demand for these items may mean we'll have to remove them until we can get new hosting sorted out.

At this point I wish to ask those of you who contacted me with regards to donating server space to Dream17 to get back in touch. I've not had replies to any of my emails. Failing that I have begun "window shopping" for a new server. Dream17 has to move this year, if not because the server will be going down then to give us more bandwidth so you guys can download to your hearts content.

I don't want to see this site become suddenly unavailable because we've reached our bandwidth limit, so I hope to find a solution soon.

GamesTM Special Feature
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 24/01/07 4:25pm CET

This month's GamesTM, due to hit the shelves tomorrow, features a 29-page special on the Amiga, including a reprint of Ashley Day's "The Making of Worms" article, and an "Amiga Legends" Roundtable interview featuring Martyn Brown, as well as other names from the glorious days of the Amiga. Definitely worth a read, then.

Also! We've uplaoded a few more screenshots for Worms, Worms Armageddon, Worms World Party, and Worms Blast. Mostly, they're screenshots from various versions of the games, but we realised we had been rather criminal in that we've never had any screenshots of the original Worms at all! We've sorted that out for the most part, althoguh the Amiga screenshots are limited to just the one as I can't seem to get the game working past the Team Select screen. If anyone is able to help us out in that department do drop me a line.

Oh, and the entries for Lemmings PSP and Lemmings PS2 (EyeToy Enhanced) have now been amalgamated into a single entry, which makes more sense to me.

Worms Live Arcade still in certification
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 22/01/07 2:12am CET

Martyn Brown reports over on his blog that Worms for Xbox Live Arcade is "still in certification process Neutral" (emphasis mine), which leaves me asking why Microsoft are still sitting on this. Are the guys down in Certification just having too much of a good time to put the game on the Arcade Store, or what?

When it's out, we'll let you know. Sigh.

Edit: We know the wait for Worms Live Arcade is driving you nuts, so here's the Achievements list for the game to tide you over. Also, Wikipedia has the game listed under the name Worms: Defeat. I'm currently investigating whether or not that is the actual title for the game.

Finally, we have a very special treat. We've been able to get hold of some screenshots from Total Wormage, which you may well know was the original development name of Worms. These screenshots can be found at the very bottom of Worms' Xtras page, so do tuck in. They really are something special.

Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 12/01/07 7:19pm CET

This year we will be totally overhauling the look and feel of Dream17, and one of the things we are considering is incorporating a German Translation. It'd be a big addition to add to the site, but we do get a lot of traffic from Germany and we also link to a couple of German sites, so it just seems like a natural step to make.

We wouldn't be doing a straight Babelfish/Google translation, either - we have contacts in Germany, people who would be able to translate the site to actual, readable German.

The question is this: would our visitors benefit from a German translation? We're very much interested in hearing what you guys think about this idea, so drop us an email or leave a comment on this newspost and let us know what you think.

Worms Armageddon 'Worst Shot Ever' Awards 2007
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 09/01/07 2:29pm CET

Run has put together a little "award" of sorts called the "Worms Armageddon Annual Awards for Atrocious Gameplay", where you can upload a Worms Armageddon replay and nominate a shot for one of its categories. I love stuff like this, and I have in fact nominated a terrible shot made last night by former WorMatriX Staffmember ChazmaN.

Check out the awards site and maybe nominate a terrible shot yourself, if you have a suitably horrible replay to upload.

Worms Live Arcade radio silence
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 04/01/07 11:23pm CET

Wow. Worms HD certainly is proving popular, and it hasn't even been released yet! Martyn Brown has made this announcement on the Team 17 Forum:

"We accept that there's been incredible interest in Worms for 360 Live Arcade.

In working with our publishing partners we are making no further comment until our official announcement, we thank you for your patience and understanding and look forward to the title's release as eagerly as you.

I appreciate that there's been a lot of reporting on 3rd party news sites and forums - not to mention discussion here - and hope you'll bear with us.
"

Looks like unless there's another leak we won't have anything to report on the Worms HD front, but we will keep you posted should anything pop up.

Happy New Year!

The title of this entry speaks for itself, but it needs saying, doesn't it? Happy New Year to all of our visitors worldwide.

Where does the time go, eh? 2007 looks to be a very important year for Team 17 and by extension that makes it important for us here, too. It means we should hopefully have plenty of news ahead to cover. We also have Dream17's third birthday coming up at the start of March and we have a couple of tricks up our sleeve to celebrate.

2006 wrapped up + Worms 360 screenshots!
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 28/12/06 11:25pm CET

Link to Worms XBL screenshots at the bottom of this newspost!

Spadge has just updated the Team17 Forum with this news item:

"Well, that just about wraps up 2006 for Team17. It's been probably one of our busiest and actually most successful years for some time, setting us up for a great 2007. Because of this, I appreciate we've not really been around on the forum so much and been fairly tight on information regarding what we're up to, which to be honest, is a commercial necessity!

There's a lot of talk right now about Worms for 360 Live Arcade and I'm pleased to say that you shouldn't have to wait very much longer for (a) an official announcement and (b) the game itself, which is in the last few days of testing (and is also on Partnernet for wider testing)

News of it's arrival date, full feature list and cost will be announced in the early part of 2007 and given the speculation, hopes and wishes of most of the comments we've seen, most players should be really happy.

Team17 are working on a bunch of stuff right now, next-gen, handheld, wii, PC and digital-platform stuff... keep an eye out for it in 2007 and we'll let you know more when we can Smile
"

Good news as far as Worms 360 is concerned, and even moreso for the next year. Team 17 are going to be busy indeed...

Update: Bonz has just emailed me a link to a French website containing the first screenshots of Worms for Xbox Live Arcade. It's looking very much like Worms: Open Warfare, too. Check it out.

New 2D Worms for PC in 2007? And Worms XBL update
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 28/12/06 3:51pm CET

Martyn Brown has, I think, excelled himself in his ability to give horrendously vague answers. I can't really blame him - Team 17 has agreements all over the place with various partners and companies, so he says what he can. Except sometimes he doesn't even do that, but I digress.

Over on the Team17 Forum, someone by the name of |Dark| has asked "I want a new 2D Worms for PC too, you really wanna let the PC-community play a game from 1998 for all time?" to which Spadge has responded simply:

"No.

2007 will be interesting.
"

This could be interpreted one of two ways. Either the "No" means, "No, we're not making another 2D Worms game for the PC," or "No, we're not just going to let people play a game released nearly ten years ago," which may well mean that a new 2D Worms game could be released some time next year.

Or it could simply mean "No." That's the problem with vague statements - they're vague.

Thanks to Bonz for passing this info our way.

Meanwhile, on the Worms for XBox Live Arcade front, Spadge confirmed following a question regarding PR for Arcade releases that they are "However, we're about to move into top gear..." (source) suggesting that we may hear some actual publicity for the game fairly soonish.

Your voices have been heard!
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 15/12/06 8:03pm CET

I have been absolutely inundated with response to the recent announcement that Dream17 is in need of assistance. I've had tons of emails of support, a few donations (we're just over the £50 mark at the moment), four offers from people offering to host the site for us, and two offers from people who are capable of getting a Vector version of the site logo knocked together for some Dream17 merchandise. I have always been of the impression that interest in this website was minimal, as we don't generally get many comments and the forum is practically dead. But judging by the emails I've had... well, my gob is well and truly smacked Very Happy or Laughing

I think it's safe to say that the future of Dream17 is utterly secure for now, and I thank you for your kind words and donations and so forth. Right now my advice to you is to stop donating. We'll get the logo sorted out sooner rather than later and maybe you'll be able to grab a Dream17 tee-shirt or something before Christmas.

Thanks again for the support - you lot are phenomenal!

Dream17 needs your help...
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 13/12/06 1:31am CET

At the moment, Dream17 is very generously hosted on a server maintained by our resident Worms Correspondent, Cyclaws. However at some point during next year, Cyclaws will be shutting his server down because, well, he can't afford it. And understandably so, seeing as Dream17 is the biggest thing he currently hosts, and it's huge. Very huge. If you saw our bandwidth usage each month you'd wince.

Which is why we're now asking for your help. At some point next year, Dream17 will once again be moving servers. For the first time since its inception nearly three years ago, someone will have to actually pay for its hosting. As this is a project I operate in my spare time and I currently don't make any profit from it, I don't know if I can afford to pay out of my own pocket for it, at least not in the long haul. This is why we need two things to happen.

The first thing, and this is a priority, is that we need someone to help us come up with some merchandise. I've dabbled in this before, but most online store places need vector art files and I've always worked with pixels. Vector art is totally out of my depth. At the very least I need someone willing to convert our logo into a vector file so that we can begin using it as a basis for all sorts of crazy rubbish.

The second thing we need is for people to actually start clicking the Paypal "donate" button up the top there. Honestly, it's actually gathering dust at the moment. We get less than £10 worth of donations a year. I never started this site with the intention of making a profit, and that £10 quite happily covers the cost of the domain, but times they are a-changin'.

If you're able to help us vectorfy our logo, drop me an email and we'll get talking. In the meantime, please help us out by donating. The last thing I want to see is this website vanishing into the ether, and I know that you'd hate to see that to.

Worms HD Release 'not far away'
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 11/12/06 8:49am CET

THis morning, again on the Team 17 Forum, Martyn Brown explained a little more about the Xbox Live "Certification passes" and where Worms HD is on that list:

"360 XBLA has about 4 certification passes, pre-code complete, code-complete, localisation complete and ZBR (not sure what this is). We're almost at the last, which should be the quickest. All this takes months. It's been feature complete for a few months now and we've been bug-fixing along the way, not that there were many at all - mostly just what we have to do on 360 (controls, buttons, messages, looking after errors etc). The release is not far away now and we're pretty excited about that. We should be able to talk more openly about it soon enough."

QWAK Advance may be available before Christmas
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 08/12/06 8:20pm CET

The second QWAK GBA e-newsletter has gone out, containing this very snazzy information:
"There has been fantastic interest in QWAK, many thanks to Games TM magazine, who did an interview with me in their mag. I have recieved loads of good feedback about the game, and it seems many of you want it ... and you will definately be able to have it ... soon.

I hope to have the Carts ready for shipping by the end of next week, that is if all goes smoothly of course. So you may even get QWAK for Christmas after all.
"

Pricing has also been announced:

"£15 - 1 Cartridge (including FREE postage and packaging)
£27 - 2 Cartridges (including FREE postage and packaging)
£38 - 3 Cartridges (including FREE postage and packaging)
"

The free postage includes International orders. I think you'll all agree that this is absolutely fantastic news, and I am glad to see that QWAK Advance has seen so much positive interest. To subscribe to the mailing list yourself, check out the QWAK.co.uk.

I have had an email asking why QWAK Advance has not appeared on our Softography+. The simple answer is that, like the BBC Micro edition that came before the Amiga release, QWAK Advance hasn't been developed or published by Team 17. That doesn't mean to say that we're not excited. Pooka wrote a preview for RealVG, our "sister site" of sorts, and while he raised a few concerns with the demo, he's just as excited about the GBA release as I am (although I expect he'd be more excited at the prospect of a portable Superfrog game...).

We're looking for people willing to put in the time and effort to produce screenshot-maps of levels from various Team17 games. Oh, go on - Advertise with Dream17 for FREE!
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 11/08/06 5:06pm CEST

I have decided to open up a few advertising slots which are now available for free to anyone who wants to advertise. The spots are on a fortnightly basis only, and there are minimum requirements to qualify for a free ad spot:
  • Firstly and foremostly, no adult material. If you're hoping to get some free advertising for your porn site, you're wasting your time.
  • Your website must ideally be either computer & video game related, or somehow relating to the Amiga, although we will make considerations for websites in other areas.
  • No illegitimate emulation sites. Websites for emulators are fine but requests from any website providing ROMs without authorisation will be deleted. If you are authorised, like us, then it's not a problem.
  • We would appreciate a returning link to Dream17 before we place your ad up.
  • And ultimately, we at Dream17 reserve the right to deny or revoke advertising on the website to anyone who requests it at any given time without notice.
There aren't going to be many slots available, so you'd better put your request in right now!

Team17 Classic IP
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 25/07/06 9:18pm CEST

Martyn Brown has stated in this thread over on the Team17 Forum that Team17 IP could be appearing on GameTap.com. GameTap appears to be a legal emulation site of sorts with a proprietary download client and a monthly membership of about $9.95 USD per month. More on this as it develops.

As some of you may know, Team17's animator, Luther, has a habit of sticking whatever sprite he's working on at the moment as his avatar on the Team17 Forum, and you'll be very interested to see what his avatar is at the moment. Is this linked to the above, or is it a different project entirely...?

No new Alien Breed game in development
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 05/07/06 4:51pm CEST

So apparently everything we've reported about the new Alien Breed game that was supposedly in development following AB2004's shelving is, ahem, entirely untrue. In the aforementioned thread on the Team17 Forum, Spadge has stated that there "There isn't one in production." I was under the impression, based on comments Spadge had made over the past year or so, that a new Alien Breed game was certainly in the planning stages at least. However, in Spadge's defence, all he had said was that there was interest in the franchise and that a new game could be developed, not that one was being developed. I sincerely apologise if I have mislead any Team17/Alien Breed fans - I'm just as disappointed as you are. Sad

Speculation is Ripe! Pt. II: The Ripening
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 04/07/06 6:09pm CEST

I started this thread concerning Team17's Unreal 3 engine shenanigans over at the Team17 Forum, and Spadge left this comment:

"We aren't building an FPS game, that genre is very congested.

However, I can't say what we are building with it, either.

There's a ton of stuff going on right now although there probably won't be too much in terms of official release information (aside from something for 360 XBLA) in the near future.
"

Speculation is Ripe!
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 29/06/06 7:09pm CEST

I've been browsing the job section as GamesIndustry.biz, and I discovered that Team17 are hiring a number of positions, specifically looking for people who are experienced with the Unreal 3 engine. If this means what I think it means, then it may well confirm my fears that the new, as yet unannounced Alien Breed game may well be an FPS. Or, alternatively, they have an FPS in development based around original or outside-source IP.

We shall watch and wait...

PSP success for Team17
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 22/06/06 10:34pm CEST

Team17's handheld titles are still doing very well, three months after their initial releases. Lemmings is currently Number 6 in the UK chart while Worms: Open Warfare is in 13. Remarkably, both games are thrashing EA's juggernaught The Sims 2, although it's generally accepted that the franchise is in a bit of a decline (that and no self-respecting PSP owner would willingly buy a copy of the game).

The DS version of W:OW, however, is nowhere to be seen. GameSauce should be ashamed of themselves.

In other Chart news, Codemasters revival of the classic Sensible Soccer series is faring well, with SS2006 currently ranking 3rd in the PS2 chart, 2nd in the XBox chart, but 17th in the PC chart. Clearly football is not coming home to PCs, then. Still, overall the game's the 6th best-selling game in the UK at the moment. Glad to see the old wardog doing well against these modern haircuts.

Team17 @ E3 2006
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 01/06/06 12:09pm CEST

If you've read Team17's website, you'll know that Team17 attended this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo - E3 - in Los Angeles. Some of the visitors over at the Team17 Forum took this to mean that they were going to be showing something. Speculation was ripe - was it a new Worms title? Perhaps the long-touted sequel to SuperFrog fans have been waiting over a decade for? Or, dream of dreams, could it be the much covetted latest instalment in the Alien Breed franchise? Or is it something new? Team17 have said they're working on at least one new title for the Nintendo DS...

Alas, all was not as people thought. Team17 were not showing anything at E3, but were there in their capacity as a developer should any publishers take an interest in any of their work in development. E3 can be quite important for developers, particularly mid-sized developers like Team17 who are unable to publish titles themselves - it's a great opportunity to meet and greet reps from companies who might just be interested in publishing Super Ultimate Body Blows Galactic II: Danny Does Dallas, or their spinnach-themed Telesales Simulation game. Or something.

It's been a slow news week for us, really, hasn't it? Confused

Zip Download issues
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 16/05/06 12:05am CEST

We've become aware that downloading Zip files is ending prematurely in some cases, resulting in corrupted downloads. It's usually a combination of Internet Explorer and dial-up internet, but we've had a few reports of broadband Firefox users, so that's that theory out of the window. It's likely a temporary server-side issue, and we're working to get this issue sorted, but in the meantime it might be worthwhile using a download manager such as GetRight, which automatically detects when a download has ended early and resumes it from the last successful downloaded bit.

SuperFrog II announced!

Late last night, Team 17's Press Office emailed us a Press Release confirming rumours and speculation that have gone on for well over ten years now - that a new SuperFrog game is in the works! The new game has been confirmed for the current crop of consoles (no official word on whether or not a PC version is being developed, but it doesn't seem likely considering there's little market for them on PCs - we'll check on that). Edit: Whoops, it's currently for PC only. My mistake - I didn't get a lot of sleep last night...!

I'm at work at the moment and, as such, I don't have access to the Press Release. However hopefully someone else will be able to stick some or all of it up later.

In the meantime, feel free to discuss the newly announced title here in a specially created forum just for the occasion.

Worms in this month's Retro Gamer
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 31/03/06 10:59am CEST

I've just received an email from Ashley Day, a regular writer for Retro Gamer, about this month's issue of the magazine:

"Issue 23 of Retro Gamer is out today and features my 4 page article on The Making of Worms. It includes a brand new interview with Andy Davidson, in which he explains the origins of Worms and his reasons for leaving the industry. There should also be some never before seen shots of Total Wormage and some original concept art."

In the UK, you can pick up the mag at stores such as WH Smith and GameStation, although I'd recommend supporting your local independent videogame store and buying from there if they sell magazines (my local indie store, sadly, doesn't). You can also buy a subscription at the official website.

Site Updates
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 23/03/06 8:29pm CET

SupSuper has spent the better part of the past month or so meticulously converting the site to PHP. You may have noticed a few changes, but this is nothing compared to how easy it is for us to maintain the site now. Site updates should be far more often...

Incidentally, we're aware of a few issues with page displays. Firefox and Opera users are getting white pages, and IE users are getting Microsoft's generic 404 error page. We're looking into it. It may be to do with the recent Database rollback our Esteemed Hosts carried out recently. Lovely.

Edit by SupSuper: I'd just like to add that, while this conversion is going on, I wouldn't suggest bookmarking any pages besides the index, as they may change. This means you'll also have to update any links, if you linked to any page.

X2 No-Go
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 03/03/06 12:35pm CET

I had a couple of emails asking me whether I would be able to get an ISO of X2 onto the site. I've contacted Martyn Brown but, unfortunately, they'd had to decline due to the license for the game (this is most likely the license with SCEE to release the game on the PSone - correct me if I'm wrong, people).

We will, in the future, be looking to expand the collection of CD32 versions we have for download. Specifically, we're looking at getting the full CD32 version of Alien Breed Tower Assault, with that spectacular (if lengthy) intro sequence.

Oh, and don't forget about that Lemmings competition...

Lemmings in the media
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 16/02/06 4:41pm CET

Sony have started advertising Lemmings PSP, with ads popping up in various gaming industry magazines such as Edge Magazine.

Edge have also reviewed the game, giving it a rather harsh 6/10 score. Their main concern is the D-Pad cursor control (which I myself have had reservations with since I received my review copy), and I quote, "...it's the trawl of the cursor between one lemming and the next that does this interpretation the most damage." I think this point can be mooted rather easily by one of the other controls within the game, but more on my thoughts and feelings on the game later this month when my review goes online on February 24th...

A potential controversy
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 02/12/05 1:36pm CET

Long-time fans of Lemmings may be disappointed to discover that you will be able to issue commands to your Lemmings while the game is paused, in Team17's classy PSP remake of this classic Amiga title. The Christmas 2005 issue of Edge Magazine states that this is, "Clearly a concession to the fixed cursor speed, this is the kind of change that could prove no less ruinous than the problem it's trying to solve." Would it not be easier, asks your friendly neighbourhood Teamster-Fan, to allow one of the buttons - Triangle, perhaps, or Select at a stretch - to slow time down allowing you to issue commands to your Lemmings slightly quicker, rather than arguably ruining the flow of the game entirely...? We'll keep you updated.

Living The Dream...
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 06/10/05 2:49pm CEST

I realised this morning that it's been just over two years since a bored, lonely ginger-haired Team17 fan with too much time on his hands sat down to work on a fansite for his favourite videogame developer. Two years ago, that little freak started working on a design layout, knocking content together, playing through all of his favourite games to obtain screenshots. Two years ago, he enlisted the aid of two good friends (one of whom is one of the funniest writers he knew, the other being someone with an unhealthy SuperFrog obsession) to help him run and maintani the site.

That little ginger-haired goon was me, and those friends were Worm Mad and Pooka. And technically, Dream17 is now two years old.

Happy birthday, Dream17. And Thanks to everyone who has made the site what it is today, and for what the site will become over the next year.

the latest issue of gamesTM, out today, includes a four-page article covering the history of Alien Breed. It's been written by the wonderful Ashley Day who thought he'd give Dream17 a mention in the article, too. In addition to which, a CD-ROM is being released by some of the contributors to Retro Gamer Magazine. It contains interviews with Marcus Dyson and Martyn Brown, as well as tons of other content that would have made it into Retro Gamer Issue 19, had it not been unfortunately cancelled. You can purchase the CD-ROM at RetroSurvival.co.uk.

Fall release for Worms 4 in U.S
Posted in Archived by Worm Mad at 01/09/05 10:01pm CEST

According to the Sci-Fi channel site...

"Majesco Entertainment Co. announced the fall release of Worms 4: Mayhem for the Xbox and PC. Developed by Team 17, the newest strategy game from the popular Worms series will be available for the suggested retail price of $19.99.

Worms 4: Mayhem promises new, innovative worm-versus-worm warfare. Players can create a fully customizable team of up to six worms in numerous environments and modes, including multiplayer battles for up to four players. The game also includes a new weapons factory, allowing players to blow up their opponents in explosive new ways."

Good news for american Team17 fans, then.

A quick note to those of you...
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 14/08/05 1:17pm CEST

...who came to this site looking for the full version of Worms 4. Yes, our Traffic Monitor keeps an eye on who's using what search strings to get to the site, and a few of you have discovered this site as a result of looking for a full, free download of the latest Worms game. Well done you. Did I mention that our Traffic Monitor can pull up IP addresses on request, and that it's possible to use these to track down your computer? Even if you have an unfixed IP, it's still possible to find out which computer the address was assigned to at the time it was logged as having visited the site. So it's no difficult task getting in touch with your ISP and reporting this activity. Just a Heads Up for you.

Remember: Dream17 is not tolerant of Videogame Piracy. Every game we have available to download on our site is fully authorised by Team17. In most cases for the ADF versions of the games, we have unfortunately had to use pirated versions of the game to download, as these are usually the only versions of the game that will actually back up to ADF. But we do offer the originals as IPF downloads as well. Anyone who finds this site while looking for illegal downloads of any title will be traced and reported.

Worms3D Map Editor
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 01/01/70 12:59am CET

Those of you who frequent the Team17 Forums will know that, about a month or so ago, K^2 was banned for talking about hacking Worms3D to make his own Map Editor. This stirreed up a bit of controversy amongst the Senior Regulars, but the decision had been made and Team17 were not going back on it. I won't argue, really - K^2 broke the rules and he was warned, and ultimately his being banned was the outcome of these discussions.

But he continued his Map Editor hijinks on our forum (each time with a message stating that his work is not endorsed or otherwise affiliated with Dream17) and, after producing a Map Viewer a few weeks ago, he has finally produced a very basic WYSIWYG Map Editor. Click here to see more.

Edit :: K^2 says he doesn't feel his Editor qualifies for WYSIWYG status. He's right, it's much more What You See Is Probably What You Get, Even Though There Is No GUI And Everything Is Done By Keyboard Shortcuts, Also It's Virtually Unusable (or WYSIPWYGETTINGUIAEIDBYSAIVU, which doesn't roll off of the tongue quite so easily).

Interesting Development
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 23/07/05 3:30pm CEST

Army Men has been removed from the Credits page on the Lynne Music website (Bjorn Lynne's website). Either the information was incorrect, or Bjorn simply placed it on his website a little prematurely (i.e. ahead of official announcements).

I'd like to take this oppertunity to mention that my previous comments about Army Men are, of course, personal comments that to not necessarily reflect the opinions of other Dream17 Staff. I extend this to include the comment I'm about to make that states that Army Men is a franchise that should have died when 3D0 went bust, and that I sincerely hope that Team17 are not involved in any form of redevelopment of the franchise.

Army Men game in development...?
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 20/07/05 5:43pm CEST

Team17 are starting to make a habit out of developing old franchises. First they get their mits on Lemmings, now they are supposedly developing a new Army Men game in cahoots with Take 2 Interactive (source: Bjorn Lynne's website). While Lemmings is a great snag for the Teamsters, I am less than confident about Army Men, arguably one of the worst franchises ever, next to Tomb Raider.

Thanks to Ash for giving us the heads up, and we'll keep you updated as we get more news.

"Super-Frog 3D" Fan Project to change?
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 14/06/05 8:00pm CEST

It's expected that a Fan-Project like this would cause a bit of a buzz, and it has done. Over the past couple of days this site has been posting nothing but news on the Real Spawn Productions Project, from its cancelling to its resurrection. Now it seems the project will be changing - it's still going to be a 3D Platformer, but it's not going to be starring SuperFrog. Rene Pol informed me in an email today:

"I really wanted to obtain the game licence of team17 but they didnt want to give or sell it to me.

It seems they have plans of there own. However what started out as a fan game will be a full commercial Project. Name and character will change aswell as storyline. This is cause i invented some new cool game Ideas. Change of website will be soon aswell as more info.
"

Whatever Real Spawn intend to do with this project, I wish them good luck. It looks promising, if a little Mario64-esque (as has been pointed out by almost everyone who's looked at the project website). Still, whichever way you look at it, this is a blessing in disguise - whether Team17 intended to let us know that they had more SuperFrog in the pipeline or not, this gives us hope for something Team17/SuperFrog fans have been waiting for years.

SuperFrog still bound for a return
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 11/06/05 8:57am CEST

We've been discussing a fan-made SuperFrog sequel on this thread of the forum, only to discover that Team17 have asked them to cease. We had two Crackpot Theories - the first was that Team17 were taking a page out of Codemasters' book and just cracking down on Fan-Games for no descernible reason. The second was that perhaps Team17 still had plans for the almighty green one.

Then this little gem of a quote from Martyn "Spadge" Brown floated our way:

"Had we no plans for Superfrog our reaction may also have been different."

I think I speak for everyone concerned when I say OH GLOD, YES!!

And the winners are...
Posted in Archived by SuperFrog at 12/05/05 12:36am CEST

Evening, Team17 fanboys and girls. You're all gathered round your computers...because you need to get out more. (Silence from audience) I'm kidding, I'm kidding.(Pause) You're all here because you've been itching to find out who's won the big Dream17 competition that we've been running here. Well, I can tell you now that we had a lot of entrants and some were good and some were bad. But there was one thing that shone through all of them... and that was the passion these guys had for Team17. (Pause, bitter) A passion that died in me, the moment that Martyn Brown told me I had to move out of the company basement and look for work elsewhere.(Pause) Anyway, I'm not here to judge. I'm here to announce... and so that's exactly what I'm going to do. (Pause, getting out an envelope) The winner for best piece of Team17 fanfiction goes to... PAUL.POWER! Take a bow, Paul! Your tale of army exploits touched us all (Pause) Then we issued a restraining order. (Silence)Whoa... tough crowd. Anyway, onto the secon
d category. Music. (Pause, getting an envelope out) And the winner for best Team17 inspired musical piece goes to... M3NTAL! (laughing) I tell you, M3ntal, we'll be humming that tune of yours all week. (hums the worms theme) Oops, wrong tune! (laughing bitterly, Pause) Okay,
final category is Fanart. We got some great pictures of me for fanart but the winner is... (Pause, annoyed) AlienKing?!? What the hell? They're giving out this prize for a picture of an alien? (Pause) Who the hell judges these things? (Pause)Hold on a sec. (mumbling,Pause) Okay, right, I've sorted it out. The winner for
best Fanart will now go to MunkeeforaHead while the overall winner is AlienKing who gets the booby prize of the signed concept art.(Pause) What do you mean the art's the star prize? Who'd want a picture of a worm on their wall? (Pause) Well, yes, I would prefer the pinball. (Pause) I'm sorry, that is my opinion. (Pause)Oh, what the hell. Everyone enjoy your prizes and congratulations to Paul, M3ntal,Munkee and AK. You're all winners! (leaves to "we are the champions" music)

If we do not receive enough entries in this time, odds are we will have to cxancel the competition altogether. This means I get stuck with 3 copies of Addiction Pinball I'm not giving away, and Team17 (or possibly myself) get to keep that signed, framed piece of Concept Art they've given us for the contest.

Team17 buy up Dream17!
Posted in Archived by Worm Mad at 01/01/70 12:59am CET

In a move that has shocked fans of Team17 and staff members alike, Team17 have acquired the ownership rights to Dream17, it was reported today. It has been known for some time that Ben "Squirminator2k" Paddon, the genius behind the popular Team17 fansite has been in talks with Team17 for some months but until now the purpose of these talks was unclear.

Martyn "Spadge" Brown delivered the following announcement to Dream17 staff members and specialised press reporters, at 11:10am GMT, today - "It has recently come to our attention that Team17's dedicated fansite, Dream17, has been covering Team17 related content in a far more effective and concise manner than we are able to, with the resources available to us. We have therefore taken the action of buying up the website and all its contents from Ben Paddon and making it a subsidary of Team17. This decision will allow us to concentrate on Worms related news and info on our main site, while sub-site Dream17 will continue to deliver the same high level of journalism as it always has, with regards to reporting on Team17's older non-worms related games." Ben Paddon, the ex-owner of Dream17 who will be continuing in his role of overseeing the site was delighted - "It's like a dream come true" he quipped.

However, this news has not been recieved by everyone with the same enthusiasm. While Dream17 staff will now be paid a small wage for delivering their services to the public, one staff member who asked to remain nameless had this to say - "This is the last straw. I've always had issues with Team17 but this is just ridiculous. I felt Dream17 was one place where I could voice my opinions without worrying about censorship but with Martyn in charge, we'll soon be living in a Big Brotheresque police state!"

More news on this, as it develops.

They have also been rearranged into release order, or at least a release order that is about as accurate as I can get for the time being - at the very least everything up to "Worms: The Directors Cut" is in the right place, which is a start.

NOOOOOO! - Alien breed 2005 Cancelled...?
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 05/10/04 12:58pm CEST

Following this bit of news yesterday, I dropped Martyn Brown an email asking him if he could shed some light on the Alien Breed 2005 situation. In his emaile he stated, amongst other things, that "Breed is not on our current agenda, unfortunately."

But then Spadge made a post in the Alien Breed Fan-Remake thread which pretty much sealed AB2K5's fate - it seems that the latest version of one of Team17's greatest franchises is cancelled. I didn't want to believe it (as you can see by reading my post in that thread...), but there it is in black and white.

Rest in Peace, AB2K5.

A little misunderstanding on my part means that the Dream17 Store isn't explained fully. The store is set up through both Dabs.com and GAME UK, and clicking a product takes you to their sites. However if you actually make a purchase Dream17 gets comission on the product. So it's not too bad. I'll make sure this is better explained on the Store Page itself at some point soonish.

WorMatriX News
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 26/09/04 12:16am CEST

I've been holding off on this particular piece of news for a while now but I think it's time you guys knew what was going on.

The WorMatriX - the sister-site of Dream17 focusing almost entirely on Team17's immensely successful "Worms" series - will be shutting it's doors very, very soon. The site has been in a "Back soon" state for a while now, as Braininator was developing a new design for the site which would not only look snazzy but would incorporate all of the original content and then some. However I have made the difficult decision to close the site dowbn and to merge its content with Dream17. My reasoning is simple - I've always been a fan of Team17, and it seems silly to seperate the content purely because Worms has been Team17's most successful franchise to date.

As previously stated, the content from the site is not being wasted and a majority of it will be coming here, while a small portion of it will be donated to RunForYourLife's superb website, Wormtech. Two WorMatriX staff members, FatWhitey and Braininator, will also be making the jump and they will be focusing mainly on Worms content and news. You may already have noticed FW making news updates regarding Worms Forts website developments, and Braininator will be writing an article or two for the future.

So what does this mean? Simple - it means that Dream17 has gotten that little bit bigger and a whole lot better. In time that "WMX" Logo up to the right will be replaced with a link to the Master Site itself - Team17.com. So there we go. In the meantime, wait patiently for that content update and it'll happen. No three year waiting for you.

A busy schedule (see, I spelt it right this time, Pooka) means that the update probably won't happen until the middle of this coming week. But it will happen, regardless of time (or size!). In the meantime, thanks to the handful of you who have sent emails of praise and so forth, and thanks in particular to someone who's sent me information regarding yet another undocumented Team17 title, which will go up on the Softography+ soon...

Due to the large number of emails I have had concerning this matter, I'm maknig a News Post to clear things up:

Team17 have given us permission to offer their Amiga titles for download in both .ADF and .IPF formats, and it is for these reasons that the CAPS Project have given me access to the files. As far as I am aware it is only Dream17 and Back2theroots who have permission to host their Amiga titles, and only we are aloud access to all of these titles.

That should suffice until the next Content Update.

AB3D and Worms Copy Protection Work-Around
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 05/09/04 12:54am CEST

I've been reminded that Peter Gordon created a patch for Alien Breed 3D called, interesting enough, PatchAB3D. This patch, amongst other things, allows you to work around the Copy Protection for AB3D. Additionally, there's a program for the Amiga version of Worms called WormShell, which does the same thing. I'll definitely be hosting both here. Just so you know.

Dream17 And CAPS
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 03/09/04 12:14am CEST

The CAPS Project (Classic Amiga Preservation Society for those not in the know) has generously given me access to IPF disk images of every single title Team17 has developed and/or published. This is a good thing - CAPS Disk images are generally much more reliable and true to the original disk than ADFs. The only downside is that if you don't already own a copy of Alien Breed 3D or Worms, you will find yourselves unable to play the games as they are Copy Protected. The IPF images will go up with the content update. Whoo.

Team17 Anthology for CD32?
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 27/08/04 8:14pm CEST

Whilst doing a quick Google search for Team17-related news I stumbled across this which, at first, I thought was a re-release package that someone such as Epic Marketing (who re-released SuperFrog for the CD32 back in 1999) might have put together. Instead it turns out to be a fan-made compilation which is available to download as an ISO and playable on both CD32 emulators and the CD32 console itself. I still hold out hope that Team17 will release a Retrospective Collection for the PC featuring ports of their most popular Amiga titles, but it seems unlikely. Ho hum.

.: Edit :.

Further digging around the English Amiga Board has lead me to this - someone is currently planning to recreate the original Alien Breed 3D using the AB3DII game engine. Spiffy...

More AB2K4 News
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 17/08/04 10:44pm CEST

I emailed Martyn Brown regarding rumours that AB2K4 has been axed. He had this to say:

'I think a more politically correct term would be "suspended pending further
publisher interest".

It's true that we're no longer working on it and are pursuing other projects
which are currently perhaps more viable in terms of achieving a publishing
deal, which represents our bread & butter.

It's a bit of a shame really, because we were quite excited by the look of
what we had going, but development (and the industry as a whole) is far
removed from how things used to be!
'

Sad news, but at least it's not being trashed altogether. I hold out hope that this game will be released in the next year or so.

Fairly recently, a demo of Team17's forthcoming game - Worms Forts: Under Siege, has become available. Intended as an exclusive to the PC-Gamer Mag, this demo is currently circulating the web (without T17's consent). Team17 claim however that there will be a more final demo available on their site, before the game is released. Having played the demo, myself, I can safely say that Team17 look like they have another hit on their hands. I reserve further judgement till the game is released.

Our main SuperFrog Fan Man Pooka not only got his website mentioned in a German games magazine called Lotek64, but he was also interviewed! You can find scans of the magazine here. I'll mirror these images as soon as I am able, which will hopefully be very much of the soonage.

Arcade Pool II and the WA Screensaver
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 29/07/04 3:29pm CEST

We are currently looking into the possibility of having Arcade Pool II and the WA Screensaver from the Armageddon Collection available to download. Unfortunately Martyn "Spadge" Brown has been on holiday this week and may be away next week as well. I'll let you know what happens.

In the meantime I can do nothing else but apologise for the lack of content updates. As before, my computer is still not able to connect to the Internet for reasons I'd better not get into, but rest assured that plans for a Mega-Update are in the works including the completion of the Softography+, an Interview with Martyn Brown himself and yet more Ask SuperFrog queries. A little patience, folks.

We're not Team17!
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 25/07/04 2:25pm CEST

I've just come back from a lovely week away at Hemsby Beach (anyone who strolled along the beach may have spotted me in my "Lost In Space" baseball cap and cyan swimming shorts) to about a dozen emails regarding releasing the new Alien Breed game for Amiga OS 4. Apparently a bunch of people online think I'm part of Team17. I wish - fact is I'm just a huge fan with too much time on my hands.

Just so you know...

[Edit by Pooka] Silly Ben, missing out on an I in this post. I'm glad you had a great time though.

Okay, maybe not...
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 05/07/04 1:37pm CEST

Dream17 did not receive the aforementioned content update due to technical difficulties. I will try to get some content up as soon as I can. It's not easy with my current arrangements...

Good News, Everyone!
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 23/06/04 4:24pm CEST

Dream17 will receive a content update on Friday, if all goes according to plan. If it doesn't then it won't, but let's hope for the best, eh? A few things I have in the bag waiting to leap out are:

o An interview with Martyn "Spadge" Brown.
o More Softography+ updates and ADFs!
o A new section - "Dream17 Guides To...", the first installment of which is a Guide to Amiga Emulation.
o An online store! (Coming soon, but not that soon...!)

Isn't this exciting? I'm excited!

"Dude, do you still work here?"
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 17/06/04 11:24am CEST

The answer, of course, is "Yes". As I've already said, because my computer isn't able to get online it's rather difficult to make content updates. Rather than stick up little updates at a time I am currently working on a major content update which will probably get from my comptuer to the internet by way of CD-ROM first. I'll also try to get some more ADFs stuck up for future updates.

I am currently working on setting up a Dream17 Store where you will be able to purchase games for various systems as well as consoles to play them on. I'm also hoping to get reduced-price copies of Amiga Forever through a deal with Cloanto, but that's not finalised yet. I'll keep you posted.

Incidentally the latest version of WinUAE still refuses to let AB3D work despite a report I'd received via email claiming otherwise. I'll let you know what happens with that.

Alien Breed 3D working again
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 06/06/04 2:02pm CEST

While I haven't yet had a chance to test it for myself I have been informed that Alien Breed 3D should be working with the new release of WinUAE. It seems likely that the JIT bug fixed in the latest version was causing problems with AB3D and potentially AB3DII as well.

I noticed some minor graphical glitches with Worms - The Directors Cut in the previous version of WinUAE also. Hopefully this has also been fixed for the latest release.

No new updates for a while...
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 02/06/04 10:43am CEST

Well it seemed I was on a roll...

Due to some personal issues that have arisen there won't be many updates for a good month or so. I won't worry you guys with the problems of mine but... well, I'd like to draw your attention to the PayPal button up there...

I'll try to have some updates ready soon.

Yet more minor tweaks...
Posted in Archived by Pooka at 28/05/04 4:44pm CEST

Of all the heathens imaginable... Pooka doing an update!

Yes, well, I've always wanted to say that.

Anyway, yes. I've pointed out some stuff to S-2K which he didn't know about (he's not perfect you know, even if it seems that way!), and so the Softography+ page for P.I.G. has been tweaked a little. As has the Worms Armageddon page, to add a little bit about the Amiga version.

We've also received our first ever PayPal donation. Go Dream17!

Oh, and just a little something which I also announced on my SF website today: Back2Roots.org have acquired the legal rights to distribute SuperFrog, Project-X and Full Contact ADFs. Of course, they're all available here anyway, but it's nice to know that Team17 care about their older games.

[Edit by S-2k] Additionally, we've recieved two pieces of FanArt!

Minor Tweaks and Updates
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 28/05/04 2:30pm CEST

I've rejiggled the Softography+ and added a couple of unexpected updates. Firstly, I've removed some of the horizontal lines seperating some of the games, which were getting a little tedious to say the least. The only horizontal lines on the site now are seperating the Main games from the Budget games, and the Budget games from the various types of Bundle Pack. Etcetera.

Next up we've got two new games added to the Softography+ complete with ADFs - Kingpin, the link for which has been broken since the site launched until now, and Miami Chase, a game which pre-dates Full Contact! An interesting find, too.

I do still intend to re-organise the Softography+ to make it a little nicer-looking, but for now it's fine as it is. We'll wait until the Softography+ is actually finished before I start moving things around and confusing everyone - myself included! I think I will be taking a break this weekend to catch up on my jobhunting and mainly relaxing. I've earnt it!

Oh, and I made a minor tweak to the Dream17 logo up there, making it more defined, giving it a drop-shadow and realligning the "The Team17 Fansite" text to the bottom-right of the logo.

Even more Softography+ Updates
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 27/05/04 7:35pm CEST

I've just added information for Alien Breed Action, P.I.G (a.k.a "Pig Detective"), Full Contact, Ultimate Body Blows and SF2, and possibly another one that I've since forgotten. In any case, they're all up now. This means that the Softography+ is now approximately 80% complete! I've also stuck up ADF Disk Images for Full Contact, so feel free to try this classic beat 'em up for yourself.

Softography+... Softer Gravy... Soft... Yoghurt...
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 25/05/04 2:45pm CEST

It's been Softography+ Crazy today, with me working on more information for you guys out there. Today I added information for:

Assassin

Assassin Special Edition

Body Blows

And I also added 3 new titles to the Softography+ that I have yet to write info for:

Alien Breed Action [Unreleased]

P.I.G [Unreleased]

SF2 [RUMOUR]

I'll have info for these games - and the rest of the Softography+ - completed soon. Oh, and I managed to get hold of the Disk Images of ATR at last.

New Softography+ Update
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 25/05/04 12:55pm CEST

I have finally added an update to the Softography+ for Assassin, my least favourite Team17 title. I guess I should do the Special Edition now, then. Yes, this does mean I am working on the Softography+ again and hope to have it complete by July.

In other news, I have added yet another new section - the Fansites of Excellence section. You'll find it in the Links page.

Wow, it's an Update Frenzy today. I added a new section to the Links page for Amiga-specific sites such as AmiNET, Amiga Forever, and a couple of other sites that have been really helpful during the research stage of developing this website. Check it out!

Amiga, and also Donations
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 24/05/04 12:49pm CEST

Someone in the Team17 Forum shocked me the other day by saying they didn't know what an Amiga was. Once I had finished picking up the shattered remains of my childhood from the kitchen floor I proceeded to get to work on a new section in the Goodies > Images section of the site. There is now a page containing images of every one of the official Amiga units, excluding the Escom version of the A4000T and, of course, any Clones that were developed.

Additionally I have now added a PayPal Donate button to the top of this page only (being the Main Page of the site). I'm not holding the site hostage to PayPal donations however... well, it would be nice. I will try to work out some kind of Special "Prize" or something to people who donate through PayPal. Support the web's only Team17 fansite by giving us a few of your spare pennies! Or something!

Ask SuperFrog Update
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 24/05/04 9:31am CEST

SuperFrog has very kindly answered two questions submitted to him. You can check them out if you want. Or not. I recommend you do.

In other news I have discovered that the version of Alien Breed 3D I currently have online isn't working properly with most Amiga emulators (specifically WinUAE, which is part of the Amiga Forever Pack that I'm always ranting and raving about) so I will attempt to find an alternate version for you. I did find a Hard Drive installed version but I don't think that will be much use to people who don't have the Amiga Forever pack or who don't know how to set up a Hard Drive from within WinUAE. The most probably alternative at the moment is that I will replace that particular set of .ADF files with files from the CAPS Project. The only problem is that they will be protected by Team17's traditional Copy Protection (i.e. the "black text on black book" approach) but I believe there is something on AmiNET, authorised by Team17, that will allow me to circumvent this copy protection. Meaning that
the CAPS files I'll end up with won't techincally be part of the CAPS project at all. So... er... yes. I'll keep you guys up to date.

But we do now have SuperFrog up for download. Which is nice.

Edit

It turns out that the version of Alien Breed 3D I have is fine. There is something about the latest version of WinUAE that is causing the problem. If you are using Amiga Forever straight out fo the box or have not updated to the latest version of WinUAE yet (with the snazzy new GUI) it should still work.

ADF, A-OK!
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 20/05/04 12:25pm CEST

If you take a look at the Softography+ you will notice lots of and symbols next to games for which Amiga versions were released. These icons represent the ADF Files for these games. A lit icon indicates that the ADF is up and available to download whereas a darkened icon incidates that we don't have the ADF yet but are working on getting it online for you to download. You can even download the ADFs right away by clicking on lit icons! Aren't we nice?

AVIs on the Way (Edit :: And more ADFs, too!)
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 17/05/04 3:08pm CEST

I happen to know that the majority of the community over at the Team17 Forum are there purely because of the Worms series and a lot of you haven't so much as seen some of their earlier work. Well, promoting their earlier work is one of the goals of this website and I intend to get AVI files of some of their older games up for people who may not be able to emulate Amigas or for those who simply can't be bothered to go through the process of emulating.

:: a d d i t i o n a l ::

The site has been live almost two months and, to celebrate, I'm working on getting even more ADFs up for you to download!

Tragedy!
Posted in Archived by Squirminator2k at 11/05/04 11:37am CEST

Recently FW, one of the staff over at the currently closed WorMatriX, had an accident in his home resulting in part of it being lost to a fire. Thankfully he and his family are alright and both Pooka and I wish him the best for what is proving to be quite a horrid year for him so far. Hopefully you're out of the woods now, eh Ev?

Work on the site has been delayed somewhat by the recent re-launch of my webcomic (as well as certain family members hiding my copy of Phoenix for No Apparent Reason) but I do intend to get as much work done on the site as I can. As my friends and family know I recently lost my job. I've devoted a little time to working on both sites beind the scenes but primarily my time is spent either looking for work or spending as much time as I can with my girlfriend.

In Team17-related news, I have a friend going to E3 this year so I will ensure that he snags some shots of the Worms Forts: Under Seige booth/table/thing while he's there.

Taken from the official Press Release:

"SEGA to Publish Worms Forts Under Siege in Europe and Australia

LONDON, UK - 29 April, 2004 - SEGA Europe Ltd, today announced the development of Worms Forts Under Siege, the latest title in Team 17's hugely entertaining Worms franchise. Since history began, castles have provided the backdrop to some of the most dramatic battles of all time... and in Worms Forts Under Siege, now it's your turn to take part in your own epic struggle, pitting fort against fort, worm against worm, and Catapult against Trojan Donkey!

Unleashing destruction on a scale never seen before in a Worms game, take personal command of your worm garrison and battle your way through time... from Ancient Egypt, to the epic struggle for Troy, facing the might of the Samurai, or aiding King Arthur in his knightly quest! Matthew Woodley, European Marketing Director, SEGA Europe Ltd, commented, "We've really enjoyed the experience of working with Team 17, and the simple yet thoroughly addictive gameplay of Worms Forts Under Siege makes it a great way to spend your time, either on your own but especially with friends. Team 17 has managed to improve on a winning formula once again."

Debbie Bestwick, Commercial Director, Team 17 Software Ltd, added, "Building on the strengths that have made the Worms games such a success, this latest instalment sees the series taken to a new level of gameplay. I'll try to nab some screenshots as soon as possible.

This evening I should be getting a few more Softography+ downloads up and running for you so those of you who are legally emulating Amigas will be able to experience even more Team17 games out there Wink

Incidentally I will be setting up "Amiga Emulation FAQ" at some point as since the site when live I've had literally twos of emails from people asking me why WormsDC slows down when there's an explosion. Expect that in the next couple of weeks.

My historic first post... anyway, I'm working on an article about Team17's incompetence. Just as a sort of backlash, you know. I was going to have it finished today, which is why I'm posting, but it's not actually done yet, so you should have it by the end of the week.

So if anyone has anything to say on the subject... shoot me an e-mail quick and I'll interpret what you say into the article.

[Edit by S-2k] Isn't "incompetence" a bit of a strong word...? Meh, maybe that's just my personal opinion.

A couple of errors have been brought to my attention - nothing serious, just a couple of pieces of missing content and some graphical differences, such as missing mouseover effects on some buttons. This will be fixed eventually. Remember, the site's still not finished but I am working on it (although not today - it's Mother's Day!).

If you notice any big problems, such as Broken or mis-directed Links, please let me know.

Dream17 is up and running! A couple of hours behind shedule, but apologies for that. As a few of you are aware, the site isn't 100% completed so you'll have to bear with us as we try to get the Softography+ finished as well as a few other sections of the site, etc. etc. blah blah blah.

Have a good look around the site as I'm sure there's a few bits and pieces there that you didn't expect to see Wink

[Edit by Pooka] Schedule. Not shedule. Just so you know.

[Edit by S-2k] Yeah, I noticed. Just too lazy to edit.
