Further lending itself to the theory that Team17 simply cannot produce an enjoyable racing game, Overdrive reminds me distinctly of another Amiga racing game called Turbo Trax. The game is a top-down racer ala the original Micro Machines, though Micro Machines was an enjoyable experience. This is just fiddly.

As in the aforementioned game, Overdrive features a variety of vehicles to try on various different terrains. Good for them.

This game was fantastic back in the day. I loved all of Brimble's soundtracks which along with the fast pace in two player made for a very arcade feel. Only gripe was the disk swapping but if you had at least one external it was a lot better.

Further lending itself to the theory that dream17 can not tell a good racing game apart from a bad one... well, this & ATR are both good games. F17 is also a very nice racing game. They may not be as good as super cars II or Lotus but they are good.
