Terrain Six: EASTER [/u] Less talk, more rock! http://stuff.benpaddon.co.uk/wormsdc/Easter-full.png http://stuff.benpaddon.co.uk/wormsdc/Easter.png You'll notice, if you pay careful attention, that the full-colour version doesn't have any grass in it. I made it all the way to importing the terrain ...

Terrain Five: DUNGEON [/u] Dungeon didn't take me very long. I've managed to get my technique down so there's very little that can go wrong during this process now. http://stuff.benpaddon.co.uk/wormsdc/dungeon-full.png http://stuff.benpaddon.co.uk/wormsdc/dungeon.png For those of you playing the Ho...

I expect I'll be doing so once I've done a few more. By a "few more" I hope you mean all the rest. I'll probably release them in packs of six - I've done five so far, so we're not far off from the first one. Including of course "tools" and the two unused ones from the WWP CD, &q...

Last one for today - I'm knackered! Terrain Four: DESERT This is the first terrain style that wasn't seen previously in Worms 2 and so has a slightly different artistic style which I had worried would be degraded upon conversion. I was pleasantly surprised. http://stuff.benpaddon.co.uk/wormsdc/deser...

Terrain Three: CONSTRUCTION [/u] I had a vague idea of what to expect from reducing the colour of this terrain, as it's one of the styles featured in the GameBoy Color version of Worms Armageddon . Again there's a lot of grey, brown and yellow in this one but remarkably I managed to get it down in ...

Interesting things I have learnt from doing these conversions so far: W2/WA/WWP terrain "textures" are 4 times wider than Worms/WormsDC/WormsUtd terrains, and 8 times taller. WA's girder segments are exactly twice the size of the old W/WDC/WU girder segments, and overly rather nicely when ...

Terrain Two: CHEESE [/u] I had hoped this one would be easier, as it's mainly yellows. I was sadly mistaken. The terrain itself looks rather splendid although some of the objects I chose didn't convert quite as nicely. It still looks rather good overall, however. http://stuff.benpaddon.co.uk/wormsd...

WA terrains for WormsDC

I've spent a few hours today very carefully converting the terrain styles from Worms Armageddon to a format that Worms - The Directors Cut can use. Rather than ripping the graphics from the game itself (not within my capabilities, unfortunately) I have instead used the Page of Light to get game elem...

I had it for the Amiga before I bought the PC version. It requires a bloody powerful A1200/A4000 before you can even think of running it at a sane speed. Still, it's better than the SNES version...

oh weird. Does anybody know how to turn off music, and leave sound effects on within WinUAE? I thought I did it in the past, but can't figure out how to do it now. Searching for disabling music turns up nothing. I think you have to disable individual audio channels to do that (I assume WinUAE has s...

It's more to do with the tools not being readily available at the time. Coding for the PSP's Infrastructure mode is hectic - worse than for the PS2 - and the Wifi devkits weren't readily available to Gamesauce (the WOW DS port team) at the time. I do hope Team 17 take the helm next time a Worms hand...

I'm reviving this thread, because we need to hear more about this. Is it just ONML that does this, or is it present in the original?

There is a Superfrog fan-remake in the works. Moxy is using the original graphics at the moment (possibly as placeholders) so he may be interested in some all-new graphics. Check that thread out, post a reply, maybe email Moxy and see what his plans are.

Funky - if you can export a Worm model people may be able to use it for things such as, say, mods for other games. I'd sure love to see a Worms race in Dawn of War, or take a Worm into battle in UT2004. Because I'm sad like that.
