Personally, I use nVidia, mainly. It's a matter of personal preference. In terms of performance, there's no big difference.

I used to have lots of Team17 games on my Amiga 500. Too bad it doesn't work anymore. #1: I loved Choas Engine. Very difficult at times, but fun. #2: Alien Breed (the original). Very cool.
