WarioWare: Twisted!

Post by FW » Tue Jun 07, 2005 1:59 pm

I'm going to the mall tonight to pick up this game for GBA. This will be my first WarioWare game, and was wondering what you people thought of the WarioWare series? I'm getting this game not only for the puzzle genre, but because of the good reviews it got as well.

It's a puzzle game now?

I suppose it doesn't sit well in any other genre. I've only played the original but I thought it a work of genius. I'm not sure if I need to own three versions of it, though.

WarioWare - Very snazzy.
WarioWare: Mega Party Games - Additional snazziness for the Multiplayer, but the Singleplayer is really the same as the first game on the GBA.
WarioWare: Touched! - Bloody fantastic. After playing the demo, I bought this instead of Mario64-DS.

I played the orignal on an emulator.

I'm not proud.

When I've exhasted my list of games that I want to buy more than it I'll be sure to go out and find it secondhand somwhere.

You missed Twisted ;)

Was going to buy a DS for the main purpose of WarioWare: Touched :D

I've missed out on Mega Party Games and Wario Ware, Inc: Mega Microgame$.

I've got to admit, playing Twisted was enjoyable and fun. Laughed at some of the games, and others looked cool. There's one game Falling Asheep (Falling Asleep, geddit?) where a lad tries to sleep, and has a thought bubble and the object of the game is to press the a button when the sheep gets to the fence. More sleep you jump over the fence, the better the lad sleeps. That has to be one of my favorite games :)

I've got all the games now except for Twisted, and I can honestly say the original is the best so far -- but Twisted could come close to topping it, from what I've seen. Problem is, though, I've got my sights set on San Andreas for PC now.

Strongly disagree. I found Touched! to be much less fun/intuitive than its GBA brethren. If I were to purchase a DS, I would get Feel the Magic: XY/XX way before getting Touched!

Touched! has got some sensitivity issues, but apart from that I like it. The only one I actually *own* is Mega Party Game$!, though.

I'm currently stuck at the boss level. The "Turn It Up" one during Wario-Man's stage. This is the situation, two lovely ladies in bikinis are up top, one to the left and one to the right, holding GBAs. Now you, Wario are at the far bottom, you have to memorize the rhythm the girls do moving their GBAs, go slow and you're forced to do it all over. Now here's the thing, the level does progress faster, I can't keep up! :(

I was always appalled by just how playable the mode on Warioware games that just plays one minigame at you over and over was. That should have been boring as hell, but somehow it worked.

It's really the speed thing that does it.

Finally I beat the boss stage of Wario-Man's level. But now another level is giving me problems, The Tower it's a Tower which the games are kind of like floors, and you're a monkey to scale the Tower.

I'm trying to collect all the souvenirs, yes all 150 or so of them.

I can't get enough of this game, it be my favorite :D

You know what the Best Thing Ever is?

Who's the girl next door living in the haunted mansion?
(You better learn my name 'cause I am) ASHLEY!
She knows the darkest spells and she brews the meanest potions
(You might be the ingredient I seek)

Don't let yourself be fooled by her innocent demeanor
(You should be afraid of the great) ASHLEY!
She doesn't play with dolls, and she never combs her hair
(Who has time for girly things like that?)

(Eye of newt, I cast a hex on you)
(Grandma's wig, this'll make you big)
(Kitten Spits, still your pants won't fit)
(Pantalones Giganticus! Oh no, not again!)

She could rule the world, and still finish all her homework
(Everyone knows that I'm the greatest) ASHLEY!
You better watch your step or she'll cast a spell on you
(I turned my teacher into a spoon)

(I must flip through my spellbook, and yes it's true,)
(I don't have as many friends as you.)
(But I think you're nice and maybe we could be friends,)
(And if you say no, you're toast)

Who's the girl next door living in the haunted mansion?
(You better learn my name 'cause I am) ASHLEY!
Just remember this when you see her on the street
(I'm the cruelest girl you'll ever meet)

Possibly the greatest song in any Wario game ever (at least, the greatest Wario song that they could be bothered to translate).

I've not played Touched, so I've not heard of that tune. I've heard nothing but good reviews for WarioWare: Touched, guess I'll need to buy a DS just for Touched, seems like that be Nintendo's strongest DS game.

Has anyone else played Twisted? or am I the only one? :?

I'm currently in the process of collecting all the souvenirs, the best souvenir I found was the Super Mario Bros. record.

May I also recommend:

Super Mario 64 DS - a very snazzy update of a genre-defining classic
Yoshi Touch & Go - A love It or Hate It game. Some people love it's simplistic charm, others hate it.
PAC-PiX - Draw Pac-Man to eat ghosts? Sounds naff, but fun fun fun!

There's also a new Kirby game that's both similar to and different from Yoshi Touch & Go at the same time, Animal Crossing DS, MarioKart DS, and, of course, Worms DS is coming out this year, with any luck.

Twist has yet to be released in the UK... :-|

Super Mario 64 DS - Seems like a good game, considering the fact most of the reviews (Gamespot and EB Games website) were good and they recommend the game.

Yoshi Touch & Go - Not really a fan of Yoshi, but could give it a try.

Pac Pix - Not really interested in recent Pac-Man games, Pac Man the original is good enough for me.

If I were to get a DS, WarioWare: Touched! would be the first game I'll buy, don't get me wrong though, your suggestions are great but I'm more interested in WarioWare: Touched and Feel The Magic.

I'm looking forward to playing Touched, seems like an awesome game :D
