Whats your favourite Amiga Game ?

Post by the_Agent » Fri Mar 04, 2005 10:39 am

Super Cars II is it for me. Can't count the hours I played this game with my brother.

Second is Chaos Engine, last time I played it in 2 player mode, we both got over 20 lives in the end :-)

Third is Bubble Bobble. Nowadays I play the Sega Saturn port but back in the Amiga days we played it many many many times.

Eek.

My favourite Amiga Game of all time has to be Worms: The Directors Cut, followed very, very closely by both SuperFrog and Cannon Fodder 1 & 2.

It'd be Worms 1 (not played TDC yet), but other favourites are the Lemmings games, Flashback, Alien Breed 3D, and Cannon Fodder 1 (not 2, 2 was tripe).

Secret of Monkey Island 8)

Nuff said.
Worm Mad - is he a mad worm or a person mad about worms? I'll give you a clue - it's not the first one.

I clearly remember my first 3 games for my newly purchased Amiga 500 back in 1989, it was Test Drive, Marble Madness & Insanity Fight.
Anyone remember Insanity Fight ? I played it again last week after something like 12 years and I was a little dissappointed, I remembered it as a good shooter.
But Super Cars II rocks after all this time !!!

I also don't have an Amiga - ha! Superfrog world expert and I don't have an Amiga! In fact I didn't know that an Amiga version existed for ages...

Of course, I'd say that my favourite Amiga game is Superfrog. Interesting to note that on that Top 99, Nightlong is next to it. I have to say I haven't played the Amiga version of Nightlong yet, either, but I have played and completed many times the PC version.

Also, being a platformer fan I should really play Giana Sisters. I've never played Giana Sisters. Ever.

I had the unfortunate experience of meeting those girls at an Amiga Power party, back in 1994, and I'll tell you this... they're not that great.

I think they work in Waitrose, now.

Giana Sisters is a very good Jump'n'run.

If you love it, try Gianas Return, its a spin off for the GP32 Handheld
and Dreamcast. I own a GP32 and I could confirm that it's very well
done.

Get it here

I used to have lots of Team17 games on my Amiga 500. Too bad it doesn't work anymore.

#1: I loved Choas Engine. Very difficult at times, but fun.

#2: Alien Breed (the original). Very cool. I just played the remake beta, and it looks awesome!

#3: Probably one of the Shadow of The Beasts. Now those were great games back in the day. Though they don't really manage to hold up these days...

Up until 1995 I didn't play PC games. When Doom and Quake started to get popular, I decided the Amiga was obsolete and I threw it in a corner. I regret that now. But at least there's still emulation to keep these wonderful games alive. Just got my copy of Amiga Forever; I don't regret it!

1. Superfrog: Without a doubt

2. Project X: Just as hard as trying to win WW2 by yourself and having both hands tied behing your back, but as addictive as hell.

3. Liberation: I know a lot of people don't like it, but it's one of my favourites!

Liberation is fun, but I can never seem to follow the story. That and the music is awesome... I still intend to remix it one day soon...

Oh yeah I think it has it's faults but I just love the whole detective thing of the game, the fact that you have to ask people for clues and leads, and the follow them up. I'd admit though it does get boring sometime, especially when your out of cash and have to go looking around some random buildings for some more. But even with all it's faults it's my 3rd favourite Amiga game!

Again sorry its an old topic...

Superfrog
SwitchBlade
Alien Breed (any of the top down ones, thought the 3D games were crap and that Gloom was far more fun)
Project X
Uridium 2
Hired Guns (so much fun playing this in 4 player at school lunch times, specially those damn Lemming Wars levels)
Turrican II
Qwak
Battle Squadron
Disposable Hero
Ruff N' Tumble
James Pond 3
No Second Prize
Rock N' Roll
Super Stardust
Trex Warrior
Wing Commader
Syndicate
Silkworm (beats the arcade version all to hell)
SWIV
Chaos Engine
Cannon Fodder
The Settlers (Finally able to play this to full potential thanks to WinUAE able to emulate a more powerful Amiga)
Monkey Island 2 (my sister enjoyed being the disk swapper...11 disks)
Speedball 2
Xenon II - Megablast
Nitro
Lotus 2
Populous 1 & 2
Lionheart
Lemmings (specially evil 2 player mode)

And the PD games:
Atoms
Extreme Violence
Tanx N' Stuff
QuickMoney

Hmm lookin' at all that I'd probably say the Amiga was my favorite system for games. Hell if it wasn't for emulators and the odd great freeware/shareware game I probably wouldn't play games on PC at all.

The Top 99 list is in order of page views each month, so nobody has voted for it. It just means lots of people like looking at porno games.
