Lego Star Wars Demo

Post by FW » Fri Mar 11, 2005 4:19 pm

If any of you are interested, download the demo here - http://gamesdomain.yahoo.com/ps2/le...s/feature/65222

This is one of the games on my PC games to buy list.

I've played this demo, and to be honest it was funny, there's two specific things during the cut scene which are funny.

One of the Jedis tries to figure out what a container is for, and a ship is destroyed leaving the two guards looking at each other in an "uh oh" statement then falling, once hit the ground they dissembled.

This is my first star wars game, as well.

I have to agree with that. However, I'm not one to judge a game before trying it. I'll download the demo, and see what I think.

Hmm, I've came with the conclusion this won't be such a popular thread. I'll be picking up two copies, one for myself and one for my cousin, since I've introduced him into PC gaming. :)

Oh, I didn't notice this thread before. I'd like to say that I've played the PS2 version of Lego Star Wars, and it rules.

We have Lego Star Wars for the PS2 now. Well, that and Warioworld. Both are getting played rather much.

(Yes, I've sort of drifted over here... I'm not quite sure about where to post an intro... Back OT, anyway)

What is rather sad is that the developers of the Official ROTS Game somehow managed to make it seem less authentic, and well, just all around worse than Lego Star Wars' Ep III sections. For instance, the end fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin in the Ep III game just doesn't really seem to capture it very well. I'm not quite sure how, but it just wasn't very exciting. However, playing out a lightsaber battle between two Lego figures captured the feel of the film much more than the Ep III game.

I guess it just comes down to the attitudes of the developer. The Ep III game was designed to be a tie-in game, and those are always rubbish. LSW encompassed all three, and it appears the developers had a sense of fun, rather than deciding that "Ultimate Jedi Action" meant slashing endless hordes of droids and Generic Jedi People(tm) in lifts and temples.

Talking of Lego Star Wars - has anyone seen Revenge of the Brick on the Lego site?

lol. I actually aquired this game not long ago and completed it. Very good fun but short. If you can pick up it up cheap then it's one very good purchase.

I could've sworn I registered here earlier.

Anyway, I played the demo on the Xbox (it came with the same edition as the Worms 4 demo). I thought it was quite funny, but not something I'd buy. I enjoyed it though:)

I think there used to be a short-lived D17 ProBoards forum at one point. Maybe you registered on that.

Edit: As if I can be bothered downloading 227MB of anything.

Bah. When I downloaded it it was about 560Mb so you probably have a clone CD version or something.

I do actually prefer the Knights of the Old Republic games, mainly because they are good serious Star Wars, and are actually better written than the recent films. If you're a serious Star Wars fan and like RPGs, they're just up your street.

Those games taught me many things... including the Mandalorians all have Australian or New Zealand accents for some reason. And given that all the Empire officers have English accents, perhaps they had cricket a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Well... given that Jedi deflect laser bolts with lightsabers, perhaps they could deflect cricket balls too?

Douglas Adams seems to agree with this.

Indeed.

On that note I finished reading The Resturant At The End Of The Universe yesterday and I watched Hitch Hickers for a second time.

It sucked. After reading the book in comparison it's crap. A lot of jokes and scenes missing. Plus Trillian and Arthur dont love each other. I think they've fuddled it up. :(

Trillian never did love Arthur.
