Damn it, Paul! You had to appear after I'd finished the D17 videogame. Well, actually, I'd almost finished it so there may be a small cameo in there...of sorts. :)

I'd be down for some Worms at some point. I've got Armageddon, clan wars, reloaded, revolution and ultimate mayhem on Steam so could play any of them. I do have Worms 2 but I'd have to find the CD, install it, yada yada yada. I mean, I will if everyone wants to do that, but yeah...
Worm Mad - is he a mad worm or a person mad about worms? I'll give you a clue - it's not the first one.

Right, I've got... all of those ones Worm Mad just said as well. And I'm on Steam a lot.

I know people have been mentioning Skype a lot, but I hate it. Feel free to say hi on Steam if you're tryin'a get a game set up. If I don't say anything, I'm probably at work or something.

I guess they just proved gravitational waves, which is kind of a monumental discovery. Like, basically it proves that four-dimensional space/time is a thing, and the whole theory of relativity thing and all that.

The 4-dimensional thing was already proven by key tests such as the degree to which starlight bends around the sun. It sounds more like another step towards understanding gravity specifically, which is even better methinks! Also, this is insane:

"The black holes we discovered were orbiting around each other at about 60 percent the speed of light when they merged."

Does anyone else ever get that unsettling feverish thing in bed where the sheet/blanket feels like hard plastic against your chin?

Facing up, with the top sheet/quilt/whatever pulled up to my chin. Someone else I chatted to described it as an unknown material, but the hardness is the weird part. Maybe it's a sort of sensitivity thing, where if you're feeling ill or weak then the sheet seems unexpectedly stronger by comparison. It's a bit nauseating. I can probably just about recreate it by lying extremely still and imagining it.

Might be I never have my blanket resting over my face, but I know as you drift off to sleep some senses become distorted. I sometimes get the feeling of being different sizes, like my feet can seem really close or far away from my head.

Digging up the suitable first reply to this topic. Hopefully I don't make this thread too topical by continuing the theme. I've been tackling my movies-to-see list which had over 100 films, and I keep adding to it as I go so I'll add that one!

One I just watched is The Spirit. All very well that people say the characters & plot have been made too shallow, but it's funny seeing complaints about characters in a comic book adaptation being too over the top and well, comic-y. Anyway, I enjoyed it and thought the mesmerising visuals more than made up for the simple story.

I saw the video on Cuil Theory and thought about our vending machine. I think it only operates at one cuil most of the time.
Anyway it's well written.

That's pretty hilarious, although I'm not sure exactly how it adheres to the levels of abstraction it claims past about the 2nd one.

Yeah one of them seems to take a step back and be less abstract than the previous one.

The subtle significance of a single letter:

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/artic ... d=11664662
"He explained his desire to have the spelling of Kahutara corrected to its original of Kahautara.

"Kevin has concluded after discussions with local iwi that Kahautara means hills formed by the wind (or similar) which refers to the local sand hills, whereas Kahutara refers to a female falcon's genitals,"

Goodness me. A lot of familiar names here.
Don't suppose anyone remembers me? Not sure how I ended up on here, I guess you could say it was for nostalgic purposes.
