The Official Worm Mad Thread - With Added Madness

Post by Worm Mad » Mon Feb 28, 2005 10:29 pm

Evening all. After my dramatic departure from the Team17 forum, I expect you've been wondering what I've been upto. No? Well, bah! I'm going to tell you, anyway...

#1: Uni Work - This is the big one. I've had quite a lot of Uni work to do and this is only going to increase in the coming weeks. Yes... it is Evil.
#2: Writing stuff - Yes! I have also been busy writing various creative things. Want to know what they are? Well they list as follows -

(a) A pilot of a TV show that I'm hoping to get on the air, one of these days. Ben knows what I'm talking about.
(b) The Other 24hrs - A spoof of the hit series, 24, in which Jack Bauer lives through the most boring day of his life. Currently about four episodes have been written.
(c) Red Dwarf fanfilm - I've been working on a RD fanfilm for an official compo that's going down. Hopefully, I'll film it sometime soon.
(d) A novel - which I only wrote the first couple of pages for and probably won't finish off. (e) Songs - Mainly song spoofs. Who am I to resist?

#3: Rooms - My Monday, Wednesday, Friday updating web-comic (http://rooms.wurms.net).

And that's about it. Now I'm a mod on the Dream17 Forum. Yep, it's a wacky world we live in.
Worm Mad - is he a mad worm or a person mad about worms? I'll give you a clue - it's not the first one.

Welcome Euan, I look forward to maybe seeing said fanfilm, when it reaches completion!

Yes, that was me, without the account having been activated. I will learn from this mistake.

Good to finally hear an announcement from you Euan. I've suspected that being in University does take up majority of your time.

We practically know you're a writer, but will categorize each of my feedback into the A, B, C, and D sections.

A) Am interested into more depth detail about this particular TV show, I'll fly there to England just to make a guest appearance if the show you speak of features live actors.

B) Creative parody idea, but since I've not seen 24, I've got no comment about this idea.

C) Looking forward to this

D) Could you possibly give us a preview of a certain song you parodied?

Your comic: Always read these, continue the good work

I wouldn't know. I was at college for 5 months before I dropped out.

I do, and it sounds very, very promising. Having read the original script your wrote that your Sitcom will be based off of, I have to say you've got a real winner.

Genius. I think you've shown me a bit of this. Classic.
Worm Mad wrote:(c) Red Dwarf fanfilm - I've been working on a RD fanfilm for an official compo that's going down. Hopefully, I'll film it sometime soon.
I've scrapped mine, purely because the idea may constitute as "expanding the Red Dwarf Universe". Bah. I'll show you. I'll show you all!! (By writing it as a Fanfic... yes, I'm a Sad Sad Man).
Worm Mad wrote:(d) A novel - which I only wrote the first couple of pages for and probably won't finish off.
Snap. I've been workign on mine on and off now for about a year. I'm quite happy with it so far.
Worm Mad wrote:. (e) Songs - Mainly song spoofs. Who am I to resist?
Hehe - awesome.

You're keeping a better update pattern than I am.

Good to see you interacting with society again! :P

I believe spoof songs are often called 'songfics'. I remember writing one about hoe my entire GCSE class hated its German teacher.

Ahem.

Anyway, can we see them?

When the entire series is completed, I'll stick it online somewhere.
Nice to see you're still doing stuff WM
Cheers!
Always read these, continue the good work
Thanks, glad to hear that somebody's reading them

Ooh, send me an extract of that at some point. I'd like to read it.

Well, I've been interacting with the forum community over MSN... but yeah, thanks. :)

And due to popular demand, here are some songs. They're not that great as I didn't spend much time writing them but hopefully you'll still find them mildly amusing...

"Sitting down, weight off my feet,
did my work, took the trash out
got a new game, now it's gonna be sweet
just a man - and his license to play

so many times, it happens to pass,
you trade your tekken for yoshi
Don't lose your grip on the games you once had
you must play them to keep them alive

It's the thumb of the gamer, it's the thrill of the bytes,
rising up to the challenge of the pixels
And the last game you played sits on your shelf tonight,
and it's ready for when you next use... the thumb of the gamer

face to screen - arse on your seat,
gaming hard, getting hungry
They stack the odds but we're not gonna cheat
For the glory, that lies deep inside

Chorus

Risin' up - straight to the top,
pressed some buttons, unlocked kirby
beat the main game, but I'm not gonna stop,
just a man and his license to play

Chorus

The thumb of the gamer
The thumb of the gamer
The thumb of the gamer" - Spoof of Eye of the Tiger. I posted it on the forums before I left, actually. Also, there's a .wav version of this but it's painfully bad so no, you can't hear it.

"Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in an rpg
An escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy, I need no dungeon key
Because I'm level up, turn around
Random battle - with a clown
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me

Mama, just killed a boss
Put a sword against his neck
pressed the "attack" key, now he's dead
Mama, the level had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I've not left this room by noon tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
cutscene's playing all the time
Goodbye pokemon - I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the ganan-dorf
Mama, ooo - (anyway the genre goes)
I don't want to lose
I sometimes wish I'd never brought this at all

I see a little silhouetto of an elf
Scarborough, scarborough is it like grim fandango?
zelda and link in - very very frightening game
Miyamoto, Miyamoto,
Miyamoto, Miyamoto,
Miyamoto Mario - magnifico

But I'm just a poor boy and nobody knows me
He's just a poor boy from a poor rpg
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go - will you let me go
Eat Dinner! No - we will not let you go - let him go
Eat Dinner! We will not let you go - let him go
Eat Dinner! We will not let you go - let me go
Will not let you go - let me go (never)
Never let you go - let me go
Never let me go - ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no -
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Bee-owzer has a koopa put aside for me
for me
for me

So you think you can summon me and target that guy
So you think you can level up and leave me to die
Oh barret - can't do this to me barret
Just gotta get out - just gotta get right outta here

Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters - nothing really matters to me

Anyway the wind blows..." - parody of Bohemian Rhapsody

Okay, there are only a couple, really. There's also a song which I wrote when I was in a really bad mood last year but its unfinished and I don't know how interesting you'd find it.
