SuperFrog - Return To Project-F

Post by Squirminator2k » Sun Apr 24, 2005 11:47 am

I'm working on a SuperFrog Fan-game for the Amiga, currently called Return To Project-F. It's a game in the style of Project-X, featuring SuperFrog. Clever, eh? It's loosely based on the level "Project-F" from the Amiga version of SuperFrog, and will feature more levels, new graphics, and will be bigger. Yes.

It's being created using the REALITY engine for the Amiga.

Any thoughts?

Firstly, you should really have got my permission if you wanted to make a fangame. I hope you haven't got one of those terrible D-list frog actors to play me, I'd have appeared in it for £4.52 as long as you also splashed out on lunch. Oh well, good luck with the game and all that.
The original and best. Accept no imitations!

Incidentally anyone who uses an Amiga (or an Amiga Emulator) is welcome to test the early version once it's done.

If I can scrape up some money to buy an elulator, I'll happily test it for you.

YOU HAVEN'T SENT THIS TO ME?!

Seriously, this sounds like the best Superfrog Remake I've heard of so far - and I've seen a fair few, indeed.

It's not finished yet. At the moment I'm using original SuperFrog graphics while I build the game, but once I have that done I'll work on the actual graphics. It's being coded in an old Amiga games engine called "REALITY" which also allows you to create "Dizzy" style adventure games (I may very well do a SuperFrog Dizzy-esque platformer, too).

I, too, have started work on a Superfrog fan-game. It's a platformer, but with a twist. In fact, Superfrog is hardly in it.

Unfortunately, I am using The Games Factory, but I'm sure I can overcome the limitations if I try hard enough. A result of which being that I was up until 6am this morning coding one level.

Fantastic.

how can TGF be limitating(is that a word?) when you're just coding a platformer? unless you're using TGF's built-in platform movement instead of making your own.
and being the clickteam fanatic that i am, i can give you some helpful examples if you need ;)

I'm hoping this project will succeed though. And not flop :(

This'll probably be the first Superfrog game I'll play. Make it a good one.

...Boy howdy, this forum has some ugly smilies, IMHO.

they're the standard phpBB ones. you're welcome to find some better ones, or even make your own if you're bored.

The REALITY Engine has been remarkably unhelpful, but it's playable at the moment.

That's because you are not writing it in C. *ducks under the flying brick*

Well, good luck with the project anyways.

I've been working on other things, but this is still knocking about. I may release an early playable version at some point. I am, however, exceedingly lazy.
