Letter to Sony

Post by Jonah » Wed Jan 11, 2006 2:08 pm

Hi,

Due to being a big Lemmings fan and DS owner, I was thinking about writing a letter to Sony asking them regarding Lemmings, 'Please Sony, Can we have it?' First of all, what could I write in the in letter to try and get my own way and secondly do you think it would work?

PS. I know that it would never work but it's all a bit of fun.

Sure, send a letter. Nintendo have developed titles for non-Nintendo systems, as have Sega and Microsoft. Sony would be just stupid not to, really.

Tell them Microsoft release DS and GBA games all the time (it's almost true), and they're bound to follow suit.

Wow, the Microsoft tactic, I'm sure that will work. I shall note that.

There were a few educational Mario games on computers (not even consoles). MonkeyBall and Sonic were released on Nintendo (after Sega stopped making hardware). Microsoft-owned Rare continued to make Game Boy games after being taken over (as Microsoft don't have a handheld). That's all I can think of offhand.

Lemmings is probably a big selling point for the PSP as it is, so they'd be daft to throw away that edge any time soon. On the other hand, there's money to be had from a DS version. I reckon if we ever see Lemmings on DS, which we should, it would be some time later than the PSP version.

In addition to which, Microsoft released a version of their Puzzle Pack for the Game Boy Color, and Microsoft Game Studios do continue to produce games specifically for the GBA although I can't think of any offhand (there were rumours of a DS Halo spin-off, however I think these were largely moot).

And Nintendo developed two Zelda games for the Philips CD-i.

Rare is owned by Microsoft and they're still developing GBA and DS games.

Not entirely true - Philips still had the rights to use a couple of licenses from when they cut ties with Nintendo following the dropped Super Famicom CD Drive Project, so took it upon theirselves to develop two Glod-awful games. Nintendo would never, ever make a Zelda game that bad. No matter what you think of The Wind Waker, the games Philips made for the CDi were much, much worse.

But I digress.

They'll just tell you to buy a PSP.

I've got that :D. And the other one they released, Microsoft Entertainment Pack.

I bought one of them when I was in America, oddly enough.

Age of empires is a microsoft franchise. Its on the DS...

And now i have been reminded of the awfulness that is CDi Zelda. THE ANGUISH! THE HATRED! THE WORM-Oh wait, Wrong game. :P But you'd have a better Chance emailing them that your PSP broek and you lost your warrenty...and the system...And every piece of evidence to suggest you had one in the first place. What? IT COULD WORK!

Well, I was only there for two weeks. And I had to ask if it would be compatible, which fortunately with Nintendo's handhelds being region free, it was.
