I have so many games on Steam that I literally haven't opened it's ridiculous. How does one find the time to play Civ V and anything else?

By eschewing life I guess. When it comes to games I have a policy of staying well within my comfort zone, and not biting off more than I can chew. Now if only I applied the same thing to food. There'd be less awkward moments at restaurants. :P

Having too many games on Steam is a disadvantage I think, it makes it hard to play anything.

uhh

Well I'm honestly not even sure if this goes in the Positive or Negative events thread, so I'll just put it here in The Only Other Thread. I seem to have gotten quite romantically involved with another player of the embarrassing MMO I've been playing. So, yeah, guess I'm giving another try to one of these online relationships I've been decrying ever since I finally got away from The Devil.

Time will tell if I'm an idiot or a different idiot, but, well, she really makes me smile, so I thought it was worth a chance.

'n'... somethin' I guess.

Well my friend met his girlfriend in WoW and she ended up moving to Sweden. I think she's from Croatia. So anything is possible I guess.

I've been hanging around bandcamp allot lately. Finding lots of great stuff by listening to their weekly show, like this album: http://store.toureraichel.com/album/the ... iv-session. But today I've been listening to various stuff on the atomnation label. Best find of the day

In related news, gorillaz might release a new album 2016, yaey!

I am a huge fan of Rainbowdragoneyes. "Dark fantasy chipmetal" is a succinct way to describe it I guess. Mostly. He also did an album that was pretty much pure dance.

I might have actually plugged him before come to think of it.

Used to be the drummer for the Protomen, as it turns out!

I've seen that before, and it was just as unsettling as it was the first time.

I blame underfunding.

I mean, it's only Earth's only line of defense from extraterrestrial armageddon. You'd think the kickstarter for that would go pretty well.

I had a terrible little dream segment the other night when I was sick that I could not quite shake from my mind that day, so I thought I'd share it. There was a carnival ride by the sidewalk of some street that was mostly disassembled. The thing people ride in was unhooked and what remained was just an extremely tall lift. The guy sitting in the operating chair yells out and presses the button to raise the crane to the top. Now as soon as that thing started ascending a bunch of people, maybe about 10 or more all run up and grab a hold of the lift laughing, they are really excited. But it does not take long before the first two lose their grip and plunge down towards the ground. Wack, thud. I feel dread and there's a general panic. For some reason I get out my phone and filmed rest of the disaster, managing to capture the rest of them as they fall to their death several at the time.

I guess I blame liveleak for this, and probably this rather funny video of a crowd simulation: http://vimeo.com/109169719.

That Simpsons couch gag is brilliant.

I attended the 3rd annual Woodcock music festival on Saturday. A bit of background...

At first there was the Tauranga Music Sux zine/blog, which hilariously cursed and ranted about how terrible the music scene is in the city of Tauranga. The lack of good venues led to gigs being held in tunnels and under bridges. They even went on a 2 day tunnel tour up and down the North Island (spot me in the green t-shirt at the 2nd tunnel).

Then they announced that they were putting on a festival at a local drummer's property (not Phil Rudd's, luckily). Woodcock, the penis-themed parody of Woodstock for those sick of 'barbecue reggae' and expensive, pretentious festivals. Somehow there were enough like-minded individuals to rally around and make it happen. This was my report of the first festival.

That winter they hosted a Burning Man parody called Burning Wang where they burnt a giant effigy of you know what, although I didn't go, nor did I go to Woodcock last year. But here's my review of this weekend's festival!

It's a bit of a long way to go to see bands I'm not hugely into. Though I was already driving the 125km to and from Hamilton the night before to see some bands that are more my thing, so I would've stayed the night there as it's kind of on the way. But then I would've walked to the Hamilton bar instead of parking nearby, wouldn't have given a couple of ladies I met a ride to the next bar they were going to, and I wouldn't have gotten a kiss for my trouble. It's funny how things work out. Anyway, sometimes I just can't be bothered seeing things in person when I can watch them on video. :P

Remember that glass house I built in Minecraft that I was all proud of?

Me neither. I just friggin' destroyed that thing.

I'm quite proud of my new castle.

Bit late on this, but hiya.

This thread is apparently a tribute to a very long, very old thread I made once called The 100% Off-Topic Thread.

Speaking of which, so how 'bout those roadworks at junction 33 of the M4? Been going for a long time, now.

Hi, Paul! Holy crap I have over four times your post count. ...Most of it's probably in the vending machine thread though. Man I was sort of a prick in that thread several times way back in the when. My head hurts slightly. I keep getting these sandwiches that are alright.
