abf01dcc61 appears on the opening of intex terminal in AB SE
anyone know if it has a hidden meaning?
the 'ab' bit at the beginning and all valid hex letters makes me wonder.
in hex (240.29.204.97) almost looks like a date ie:
24/02/92
04.97 (dunno maybe a version number)
Probably the original codies know but just thought id ask, ta
question on ab se intex system

I think you're probably right. It wasn't uncommon for developers to sneak the software version in the game somewhere for reference. Either that or it's a random string of numebrs and letters that Team17 thought would look appropriate for the Intex System.

You can never tell what was going through the heads of people who put up the string. In Visual C++, in the debug mode, one of the memory allocation commands results in allocated memory being filled with 0xBAADF00D (Bad Food) repeted over and over. Other debug values include 0xCD = Clean Data (after new operation), 0xDD = Dead Data (after dellete operation), and 0xFD = Fence Data (added before and after arrays to test for memory leaks.)

It goes well with the types of names you tend to give to your arrays:
for(i=0;i<256;i++) anya=0xB000B1E5;
for(i=0;i<256;i++) anya=0xB000B1E5;
