Lemmings 2 out for PS3 tomorrow in US

According to semi-reputable gaming website IGN, PlayStation 3 users will be able to download Lemmings 2 from tomorrow. It does now appear that Lemmings 2 is the game's official title, much to the chagrin of Lemmings purists (despite the fact that Lemmings 2: The Tribes was actually the third official Lemmings game).

No word on the Japanese release yet. Expect the European release to coincide with the launch of the console itself.

If you want to get purist, Oh No More Lemmings is Lemmings 1.1 in the series.

It CAN'T be Lemmings 1.1. That implies it's the exact same game with some minor engine tweaks. ONML is the second official Lemmings game, although the ENGINE may be v1.1. Or something. Or nothing.

If you want to "get purist" then Lemmings is Lemmings, Lemmings 2 is Lemmings 2 and Oh No More Lemmings is Oh No More Lemmings.

There's nothing more to it than that. We shall wait for the internet to settle on a de facto name for this new game. My money is on Lemmings PS3.
