On August 30th 2007, THQ announced that this new Wii-exclusive 2D Worms game is in the works, featuring "the ultimate blend of classic Worms game modes and re-invented single-player missions, as well as multiplayer modes that include a host of all-new party games and even more customization options."

From the looks of the screenshots at IGN, it looks like it's based largely on the PSP version of Worms Open Warfare 2. We won't know, of course, until we get our mits on it. But it does look very good.
