The Team17 Softography Says...
"The heat is on and so is the fight! Here you meet the tough guys head to head in this edge of the seat, action packed beat-em-up.

Featuring Arcade, Tournament and 2 player game modes with intuitive control system for easy character control."

Dream17 says...
Body Blows is an interesting and quite simple beat 'em up, something of a cross between Street Fighter 2 and Streets of Rage. It's simple control system means that everyone has three special attacks with three control combos to pull them off. There are no character-specific controls in this game, meaning you can choose any character and still have an idea of what you're doing. Single Player mode is a bit tough as it really does set out to slaughter you, particularly towards the end of the game.

Two versions of the original Body Blows were released. The first was an ECS/OCS version in which only 4 characters were selectable. The second release bore a closer similarity to Ultimate Body Blows but only featured the characters from the first game (none of the Body Blows Galactic characters). I believe the second version was released to tie in with the release of Ultimate Body Blows, which had been a CD³² exclusive.
