The Team17 Softography Says...
"Retaining the same award-winning gameplay, unique sense of humour and clever mix of action and strategy that has epitomized the brand for almost a decade, Worms is the ideal quality gaming experience whilst on the move and is perfectly placed to make its debut on the Sony PSP.

The processing power of the new handheld means Worms contains the best of aspects of all previous Worms games whilst at the same time offering the best Worms AI and most balanced weapons system to date.

Plus with the introduction of a whole raft of unique features and laugh-out-oud comedy, Worms engages the player with streamlined gameplay especially suited to the smaller screen and shorter play time of a handheld device."

Dream17 says...
Remarkable - a playable handheld version of Worms that people will be able to buy for a console they actually own (unlike the Ngage version of WWP, which was fantastic and would have been better if more than three people owned and actively used their Ngages at that point). The PSP version is a tour de force, taking most of its visual cues from both Worms Armageddon and Worms 4: Mayhem. The game engine plays very similarly to WA, however some of the mechanics are different.

The biggest difference, however, is that almost all of the new weapons, add-ons and accesories introduced over the past 11 years have been stripped out. What we are left with is a basic Worms game designed to get new players interested in the game with a simpler gameplay. Unfortunately this irked some people, who wanted more weapons.

The PSP version is the superior of the two, as it's actually playable. The DS version, a sloppy port created by Gamesauce, isn't worth the money. The same probably goes for the PSP version as well - Open Warfare forms the basis of Worms Live Arcade on the 360, which is considerably cheaper and looks a lot nicer.
