CUCD7 Content Pack

Download
92.5 MB (ZIP)

In February '97, Amiga magazine CU Amiga included some additional content for Worms: The Director's Cut on their cover-mounted CD-ROM. Intended to serve as an expansion pack of sorts for the game, it included new custom levels and mountain sets, as well as the CD audio tracks and FMV sequences featured in the CD-ROM versions of the original Worms.

Unfortunately support for CUCD7 was never included with the finished game, and despite intending to include support in a patch that sadly never happened, so much of the content ended up being useless. It is made available for you here as a curio.

This zip file contains the contents of the "Worms-TCD" drawer (or folder, to use modern PC parlance), which includes the FMV sequences and the map packs, as well as the software required to view the FMV sequences on an Amiga. The zip file also contains MP3 rips of the audio tracks included on the CD. Most Worms fans will have heard all of these already, but they are included here for completeness' sake.

Of all of this content, the custom maps and mountains are the only ones actually usable in-game. Simply drag the contents of the "TWCUSTOM" and "TWMOUNTAIN" drawers in the zip file to their respective drawers on your WormsDC installation. Obviously if you're running the game from the floppy disks, you won't be able to use these files.

S2K's WA-to-WormsDC Complete DIY and Mountain Set Pack

Download
566 kB (ZIP)

This is it - every single terrain style from Worms 2, Worms Armageddon and Worms World Party, painstakingly downscaled and converted for use in Worms: The Director's Cut.

There are 25 terrain styles in total, including favorites like Art, Cheese, and Gulf, as well as Domestic - a terrain style that went unused in the PC releases of WA and WWP. Every terrain style has a corresponding mountain set that matches the mountains from the original game. For styles with names identical to existing WormsDC terrains - e.g. Hell and Desert - I've added a + to the end of the filename. This matches the way retro terrain styles appear in the 2nd-gen Worms games, where they have a - before the name.

Effort has been made to preserve the original graphics as much as possible. This is in contrast to Aceman's superb efforts, where he frequently tweaked the colors of objects and substitute mountain sets. Consequently, some of these terrains aren't necessary as pretty as Aceman's, but I feel they capture the spirit of the terrains as they appeared in the 2nd-gen games.

This release supplants the previous "S2K's Worms Armageddon Terrain Pack", which only contained five terrains. This contains all of them.

INSTRUCTIONS
Merge the TWDIY and TWMOUNTAINS drawers in this zip file with those in your WormsDC installation on your Amiga or emulated Amiga. For example, if you've installed the game to Work:Games/WormsDC/ then unzip the contents there.

Alternatively, unzip the files elsewhere, then manually move the .DIY files to the TWDIY drawer, and the .MNT files to the TWMOUNTAINS drawer.

AceMan's "WormsDC: Armageddon Set #1"

Download
797 kB (ZIP)

A selection of Worms Armageddon maps and landscape styles converted for use in Worms: The Director's Cut by AceMan. This set includes the "SNOW" and "GULF" terrain styles, as well as seven of the custom maps from Worms Armageddon.

AceMan has very kindly granted us permission to make this pack available as a download. Thanks, AceMan. ThaceMan.

AceMan's "WormsDC: Armageddon Set #2"

Download
1022 kB (ZIP)

A selection of Worms Armageddon maps and landscape styles converted for use in Worms: The Director's Cut by AceMan. This set includes the "MUSIC", "CHEESE", "DOOM" (aka "HELL"), and "MEDIEVAL". Note that the "MUSIC" and "CHEESE" terrains will clash with Squirminator2k's efforts, so it's one or the other I'm afraid.

The set also includes four of the custom maps from Worms Armageddon, and four mountain sets (one of which, "DOOM.MNT", was created by our own Squirminator2k).

AceMan has very kindly granted us permission to make this pack available as a download. Thanks, AceMan. ThaceMan.

AceMan's "Worms Meets Superfrog"

Download
111 kB (ZIP)

Two Worms: The Director's Cut DIY terrains and mountain sets that recreate the look of the "Magic Woods" and "Ice Cave" worlds from Superfrog. The conversion was done by AceMan, who has very kindly granted us permission to make this pack available as a download.

CU Amiga - CUCD7 ISO

Download
412 MB (.7Z)

The complete ISO for CU Amiga's CUCD7. As well as the WormsDC content, the disc contains a fair amount of content for the discerning Amiga user. Presented for completionists.

MS-DOS Terrain Styles

Download
36.8 kB (ZIP)

The PC versions of Worms have two terrains that never officially made the jump to the Amiga - CANDY, which was tantalizingly mentioned in the Amiga version manual but not included with the game itself, and MONEY, which was added in the Reinforcements expansion. This download adds both of these terrains to Worms: The Director's Cut for the very first time.
