The Team17 Softography Says...
"Worms 3D represents the third generation of the seven-million unit selling Worms action-strategy series.

Worms 3D continues the history of turn based strategy featuring a bizarre and outlandish array of deliciously explosive weaponry, mad animals, crazy speech and laugh-out-loud instances in a full 3-dimensional, fully destructible environment."

Dream17 says...
They said it couldn't be done - taking the 2D formula that makes Worms so popular and entertaining and inflating it like a balloon; giving it a third dimension. Surprisingly, it works - teams of up to 6 worms can move around on a fully deformable landscape, using a ton of various weapons to destroy oneanother. The downside is that, in comparison with the 2D versions of the game, the landscape is rather small, as well as the aiming being a tad fiddly. And since it's release in 2003 Team17 haven't been very good at supporting the game's online playability. The Single Player Missions, however, the by far the best that the series has seen.

Some people don't like this game because of it's "lego" style approach to deformable landscape, using a combination polygon/voxel (or poxel) Engine that I think works rather well. It's not as good as, say, Worms Armageddon, but it's a start. Worms in 3D can be better, but this is only the beginning...

I have a lot of Worms games and Worms 3D is my 3rd favorite of all time (2nd is Worms: Ultimate Mayhem, and 1st is Worms 4: Mayhem). I just can't understand how so many people dislike it - it has FANTASTIC music (especially the Wormsong 2003), it has awesome weapons like the Nuclear Bomb and Earthquake (my favorite weapons in the series), and it's as funny and entertaining as the other Worms games. This game is a masterpiece. Smile

[at]Ilham, there is music, your version probably doesn't have it, or you disable the music. I had the same problem back then, but I stopped playing Worms 3D for a while and my game was missing for some reason. I missed it, so I got the original CD version of the game. It has music, and everything.

[at]Sdf, shut the hell up... -_-
